Forza Motorsport 6 will feature the GT, Shelby GT350 Mustang and F-150 Raptor which were debuted by Ford earlier today at the auto show. The new GT uses a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 offering over 600 horsepower
True. But I suspect that Ford would of had alot of influence in that. Maybe revealing the car and game was part of the agreement…maybe that’s not quite it but I reckon it’s something along those lines.
Yeah probably this “partnership” forced an early announcement, which is quite strange for this franchise (and Horizon too). And now what? 5 months of nothing before we hear something more at the E3? Likely in my opinion.
Seriously though, 2 of my favorite things are working together now, Ford & Forza, it simply couldn’t be better in my own personal opinion. Only thing better would be a release date of this year!
First off, awesome I’ve been waiting on this. Second, why did Ford have to mess up the GT for 2016? I love the GT40, it’s my dream car. When they did the 2005 GT remake I liked it because even though it was biger it was still obviously the Ford GT. Now it look’s like your typical aero super car, it lost it’s uniquenes. My first thought when it rolled out was “cool Saleen modified their S7” then they said it was a Ford GT. Then to make it even worse they put a V6 in, don’t get me wrong I waited until they started it up before I judged the decision, that is not a good sounding or even good looking car anymore. Why Ford, why?
displacement, not cylinder count, it what makes power. a cummings 400 semi truck motor has more power than alot of the 8 cylinder motors, its only a 4 cylinder but the cylinders are the size of paint cans. i drove the m915 all over germany for a few years, and when headed up a hill with a full load i would be faster than any of the 8 cylinder scanias. the regulator is and rules were all that kept me to 55 mph. and if you put a 720 adapter on it 65 was the new 55 .
I know but you gotta understand I’m extremely biased as I knew the GT40 first then learned about it’s remake’s as they came. Also I don’t really care about power when I’m analyzing an American car, especially a modern take on a classic like this. I look at three things the way it look’s, the feel I get when analyzing it, and the sound. I’ll never even use the top speed on most cars I own so why would I need a Turbo-V6 that may be faster but sound nowhere near as good as the rumble of a V8.
For example if I was to compare this GT to the 2005 version is as follows-
2015- looks likae a typical bland aero design, sounds forgetable, and feel’s like it is just useing the GT title to get attention.
2005-Look’s like a larger GT but still obviously knows what it is suposed to be, sounds good even though I prefer the older sound of the original with the carburator instead of fuel injection, and it feel’s like it knows where it came from and honours it’s predecesor’s memory.
The 2015 is far from perfect to me but at least I still know’s what it is and where it came from.
