Simple trial if you have any decent AWD car, used the old favourite Daytona and won all 3 races by a long way, another guy finished 2nd all 3 races but we still only won 2-1 and by 450pts in the final race.

Can cut some people some slack this week though, I wouldn’t expect newish players to have any of the eligible cars yet and it’s not worth shelling out on one just for 3 races.

As a former newish person (wait, aren’t we all?) I don’t mind if a few people ride coattails…I had to on my first Trials. They just need to be educated that if you are dead last, and the team is losing by 600pts or less, the points against you can be the difference between winning and losing. Also as you said, it’s not easy to pony up for some of these cars when you are new so to see a few untuned cars is expected.

I typically enjoy running the trials multiple times. Mostly just because I enjoy the events. But also I like the idea that I might be helping those who are still trying to complete the trial. I typically run it at least once a night, and just ran it again last night with the Mustang that I already proved could own the event. Two people scored 0 points throughout. One was level 35 or something, so obviously new(ish) or at least infrequent.

This one looks like fun as I want to run it with both newer and older cars. We’ll see how it goes. Also looking forward to another Super Saloon challenge…hmm, Cross Country Limo? We’ll see.

Finally a “proper” series 23 and so new chance for trial … ow boy
I’ll just say, we did won 3:0 and I easily won first race, but my fear came true in second race by some person constantly going on in their mic (luckily I have muted ingame chat) and kindly pushed me far from checkpoint. Last race was the drivatar force field to push me off to the field and on second try away from checkpoint …
Anyway I was looking at the list Max provided (thank you) and after some shuffling around, decided its again time for my fav brand - Alfa Romeo
So S1 900 Alfa Romeo TZ2, tune - 121 336 130

Super saloons championship, sweet … but wait … cross country, erm really ?
Ow well lets take anther Alfa Romeo
A 800 Alfa Romeo Giulia, tune - 129 973 624

Finally back to road racing and cars from the U S of A :), luckily there is no snow on any of the roads, so road tires work just fine
A 800 Shelby Daytona, tune - 608 196 288

So to the final round and again cross country … ok then and modern rally cars, I’ll just reuse car from few weeks back
B 700 Ford Focus RS '03, tune - 172 525 704

Pr stunts were all done with same car - offroad tuned Agera RS

Forzathon car is a cool American car this week - Corvette Stingray 427, which I fully upgraded, while keeping big V8. Not much to it there, just have a run on a highway back and forth for speed, do some cross country for points and do few circles at festival drift, done.
Its winter time and all used cars except Daytona use rally/snow tires.

Hope this can be of any use to anyone.
Take care everyone and have fun, bb.

I may have to try the stock F1 GT and see how competitive it is. First attempt all 5 of my team were in it - they didn’t do well. Second attempt I had two other competent drivers with tuned cars, the others also picked up points and we won easily enough.

I used the 33S. From memory, Rex also has a fun tune for the TZ2 he shared for a previous winter event. A good choice of new and old cars to choose from overall.

I have some sympathy for the idea that newbies can’t really afford these cars but I guess it depends how new we are talking. Surely most people will have picked up the GT40 barn find pretty early on?

Thanks for the mention Jezza, i had totally forgot about that tune. I tuned up the Ford GT40 '64 for the trial instead, they both are about the same in speed and handling so i was happy with it.

The 33S is a great car for this Trial too

Good call by whoever decided to put Modern Rally B/700 into the playlist rotation. That combination has never been done, and they’ve certainly never put an exclusive car behind it. Well done.

Just once i’d like to see one of those who ram people in races appear on this forum. I would certainly not be holding back in what i thought of them, and no, these people are deliberately ramming, no accidental about it.

I know right , we are meant to be TEAMMATES racing against the AI and yet they ram you. like WTF bro.

I’d looked at the list of eligible cars for the trial and thought “S1 McLaren F1 should be good”, so suggested to Effinator we give it a try. Got into the game and realised it was going to be winter, and my race tyre tune might not be appropriate, but it was a bit late at that point. So we were sliding about quite a lot, but it seemed surprisingly good despite that, and we were first and second in all 3 races. There was someone else also in a race tyre McLaren F1 who was 3rd in at least one of the races. The slidiness probably made it more fun in the end!

I did my once a month ranked team adventure, which we lost. I claimed last month’s rewards before starting, so I know I was league 6 last month, but after losing, I was league 7. I think 6 of the 12 players had quit by the end, so it seems it is change ranking points now, even if people quit.

For the B700 event to unlock the new car, I used the stock 2004 Impreza, which won all 3 races easily.

Haven’t built a tune for the McLaren F1 yet so might give it a try later, built one for the Ferrari Enzo and well, it’s a tad bit slow and not good on handling, won’t be going with that again…

Completed the Trial in the Enzo as well because it was the only “high-roller” S900 AWD off-roads car I had.
The AI wasn’t a problem and on the first two races it did take the win against a 33S driven by a competent player. Only on Moorhead I couldn’t hold 1st because of the better low-speed acceleration of the 33S.
Might not be the best option for this Trial but completes the job easily - aaand I simply love the Enzo

Yep, done an overhaul on it and it raced a bit better than my first tune on it. Is a nice car i’ll admit but i found the others a bit more easier to throw about.

The ranked points issue hasn’t been fixed or at least hadn’t been when I did a couple of races last night. Sometimes it looks like it has worked so that all screens show the correct revised rank but it always resets after the next adventure. I suspect that’s what’s happened here.

still didnt get the update 23 winter, my prizes are still credits and super wheelspins but the forzathion shop is updated
anyone got the same problem?

Hello,

Cars/tunes/suggestions for this weeks online seasonal eve ts, plus PR stunts and one solo event, for those that find such useful. All tunes are my own, unless otherwise noted, all shared by myself (or others). ~ tune name / share code. If you use anything offered here, and you like it/it was useful to you, please don’t forget to leave a like.

Online:
**Trial: “A Small Fortune” | Road Racing | (S1 900) Horizon Special: High Rollers
**Car used: 1964 Ford GT40 Mk 1 (Barnfind)
**Tune: S1 Winter Trial / 438 973 660

A.I. are much easier in the trial vs. solo/offline. Very easy trial, first race in no A.I. scored points, and all but one were DNF, for the first race this is amazing as it is usually were players first adjust to the trial conditions (even if it is a player win, the second race is usually were you see better results). Loads of high power cars in the list, so guess teammates could potentially be hit and miss this week (driving beyond ability). Ford '64 GT40, very easy to drive if a little squirrelly on occasion (tune could do with the small amount of downforce left to add, but I was concerned about losing more top speed considering the possible A.I. choices). Tune is AWD, no engine swap, supercharged, Forza air, on snow/rally tires.

**Seasonal Playground Games | Slate Quarry | (B700) Retro Rally
**Car used: 1980 Renault 5 Turbo (Autoshow 120,000 Cr)
**Tune: B700 Games / 970 111 429

The easy to drive Reno 5 returns, this tune is identical to previous version I have used just with better ground clearance and lowest downforce setting. This appeared to be the fastest car in the games vs. those I was matched with, it may not be, yet did seem so, worth noting most of my teammates had tuned cars. Tune is AWD, rear Forza air, mudflaps, snow/rally tires.

Solo championships - Raced against Expert, Steering: Simulation, ABS: on, Traction/Stability; Off, Gearbox: Auto.

Just the one for now.
**Championship: “Mr. Snow It All” | Cross Country | (A800) Super Saloons
**Car used: 2010 Vauxhall Insignia VXR (Car Pass ~ Autoshow 42,000 Cr)
**Tune: A800 Dirt / 105 598 214

While as an A class road racer this car/tune feels heavy and a little sluggish (last season), here in winter cross country is another matter, easily trashed the A.I. (expert). Very balanced, self-centres, lands squarely, very good grip, plenty of power in the snow - easy wins. Tune, car is AWD as standard, no aero, snow/rally tires, rally suspension.

PR Stunts:

  • Broadway Commons Speed Zone, 2018 McLaren Senna - ‘So Much Grip’ (921 240 335) by Don Joewon Song,
  • Northbridge Speed Trap, 2019 Rimac Concept Two - ‘PR Stunt Rally’ (120 633 544),
  • Reservoir Ridge Danger Sign, 2019 Rimac Concept Two - ‘PR Stunt Rally’ (120 633 544).

Have fun.

Forgot to add, I like to use the Vauxhall Insignia, due to this livery (which i found on these forums) - ‘PPZDS’ (156 199 614) by koiftt, PPZ = “Pride & Prejudice and Zombies”, not sure on the DS part.

**Championship: "The Corolla Express” | Cross Country | (B700) Modern Rally
**Car used: 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX MR (Autoshow 27,000 Cr)
**Tune: B700 Dirt / 114 376 252

Simple enough win (expert), only the first sprint is any real issue due to the number of destructables on the track, so when in the lead you suffer constant slow downs, while the A.I. play a game of cheaty Mc cheaty face, behind you (if not close to you, when close you can hear them hitting objects, however ‘close’ here is very close, one to one and a half car lengths). Car/tune is AWD as standard, has Forza rear air, rally lights on front, mudflaps, running snow/rally tires.

**Championship: “Pledging Allegiance” | Street Scene | (A800) Country: US models
**Car used: 1968 Ford Mustang GT 2+2 Fastback (Car Pass ~ Autoshow 50,000 Cr)
**Tune: A800 Road SC / 812 082 262

Once in the lead, the A.I. offer no resistance here (expert), with luck (traffic car lottery) you can get quite a lead. Tune is AWD, supercharged (no engine swap), no aero, on race tires.

Nice to see something different, with super saloons in cross country, even if odd. Really over the constant rally in B class, especially modern with its slim choice of cars. This a applies to the games as well, the one area where I wish the playlist team would be really creative and push something totally left field - next week is apparently ‘extreme offroad’ … again, yawn. I can not remember (or it never happened maybe since I started playing Forza H 4) when we last had something in the less common classes such as “Rare Classics” or “Classic Sports Cars”, price is surely not the issue here … hello “High Rollers”, and “Vintage Racers”.

Enjoy.

The Toyota event a few weeks ago was a fun one for me.
They should have created this event with the assumption that a Supra or AE86 would be used.
But in reality, due to FH4’s strange system, most of the drivatar cars at this event were Land Cruiser and Hilux.

So I entered this race in a Land Cruiser to match them, and playing tarmac racing in the Extreme Offroad behemoth was a very enjoyable experience.
If an event like this gives a way to have fun in an unusual style, I would welcome it.
Of course, the cross country at Super Saloon was a lot of fun. Since I had upgraded my Sentra to rally-spec, I hadn’t had a this car in a long time. I enjoyed this championship!
