HAHA Good spot FN

Enjoyed the trial, cars i would not usually even look at, bit of an eye opener, good fun.

TOFT is pretty tough. I’ve come single digit close a few times, but haven’t hit it yet. I must have done it before, because my PB says so. But maybe it was in a different season. I’m loosing too much speed on the curve.

Easy trial this week, used a 33 Stradale and won all 3 races by a long way, insanely good car.

The ever-reliable Daytona is also a good choice and will beat the drivatars easily + the rest of your team if nobody else is in 1 of the 2 aforementioned cars.

Don’t appreciate anyone turning up in the rental this week more than usual though, several of the Classic Racers have been regularly given as prizes or in the shop + some are extremely cheap to buy in the AH, there’s no good reason not to have one and end up in the stock Lola that does nobody on the team any favours.

Finally a special shout out to Seasonal Games for once, the 2nd part of Flag Rush turned into both teams just messing about drifting around the score zone.

What are you using Peregrine? The Hoonigan RS200 should do it easily.

So its winter again, yay.
Trial S1 900 road racing with classic racers … went fine with 2x1st and 2nd for me, where I got force field pushed miles off track on last race. Team had a slow start with 2:1.
Warning, be careful around drivatars.
Shelby Daytona, tune shared as Road Winter
or Alfa Romeo TZ2, tune - 121 336 130
or Alfa Romeo 33S, tune shared as Road Snow

Moving to solo championships and I started with cross country racing with A 800 offroad machines, Picked Velociraptor 6x6 from last week, but other options remain
Hennessy Velociraptor 6x6, tune shared as Offroad
Ford F-150 Raptor, tune - 194 358 364
RAM Power Wagon, tune - 178 446 995

Next I did street scene racing with A 800 modern sports cars and since all racing is on tarmac without snow, no need for snow tires.
Alfa Romeo 4C, tune - 151 081 871

Finished with Koenigsegg S2 998 road racing and since there is plenty of snow on the roads I put a set of snow tires on
Koenigsegg CCGT, tune shared as Road Winter

PR stunts as usually done with Koenigsegg Agera RS, tune - 167 849 655 for speed trap and danger sign and used Hoonigan RS200, tune - 428 155 751 for offroad speed zone.
Speed trap done on first try, danger sign neede a few rewinds to not hit everything and finally speed zone, that took some work, but here it is:

TVR Cerbera Speed 12 can also do it, tune shared as Winter Spd Zone, also made S2 998 Road Winter tune, with a bit less power, to keep the slide under control.

Forzathon car … a Mini. Can’t resist Mr. Bean’s Mini, so Mini Cooper S, B 700 road tune: 104 146 731, first used custom road race blueprint at Derwent Reservoir sprint, code - 941 043 519, then moved to custom dirt blueprint at Derwent water trial, code - 764 612 023, finished on Forrest Green speed zone for easy 3 stars.

Finishing pic

Have a good new year everyone, stay safe and bb.

Edit
Put new Jesko to test and it is also capable of doing 222kph/138mph in that speed zone, with all upgrades and winter tires …

Edit 2
TVR Cerbera Speed 12 is also capable to smash Toft speed zone

I’ve tried the Mosler, and a couple other hyper cars and track toys. The Hoonigan RS200 will be my next choice.

I’ve used the Mosler for most PR stunts on mainland and the expansions. After a couple failed attempts it’s easy to figure out the line. It’s like a fun challenge for the off-road stuff.

Best week for a while - Winter is often my preferred season. Really enjoyed the trial and the Koenigsegg event was fun (although would have made a great trial). With a speed zone which requires a little thought it’s much better than the usual vanilla weeks.

Happy New Year to all!

Online:
Just the Trial for the moment.

**Trial: “Happy New Year” | Road Racing | (S1 900) Classic Racers
**Car used: 1966 Ford Lotus Cortina (Autoshow 50,000 Cr)
**Tune: S1 Classic Snow / 176 742 763

F.Y.I. A.I. is much faster on unbeatable on clone tracks of the Trial in offline/solo mode, vs. the actual Trial.
Using what I believe is the cheapest option from what you can select for the Trial - '66 Cortina. Cheap does not mean slow, very competitive across the board, will easily take on and beat the A.I., and hold its own vs. teammates, although 1st place is certainly possible, I myself managed a set on 2nds vs my teammates (Ferrari each time, with one taking 1st twice - believe Ferrari 512 S). Car/tune is very stable, but will slide/break traction if pushed too hard (braking late or not enough) into corners, also only apply power once out of the corner to stop tail wagging. Tune is AWD, has Forza aero, snow/rally tires, with 2.6L inline 6 engine swap plus turbo.

PR Stunts:

  • Toft Speed Zone, 2010 Mosler MT900S - ‘Winter Zones’ (124 846 673) by Waznewz, many many many attempts, many cars/tunes tried, eventually decided to try the car and tune I felt Waznewz used (I found a tune so felt I was correct, however this is not the car/tune used here this season by Waznewz), again more attempts, many others also present, very much all the fences and other objects where gone, finally got it with a few extra Km/h on top, rewind was used as misjudged and hit a tree, rewound, made the bend, done. Going towards the bridge (end point), used road all the way in, cut deep in corner,
  • Deep Vale Speed Trap, 2010 Mosler MT900S - ‘Winter Zones’ (124 846 673) by Waznewz, used this tune due to been over P.R stunts for the day, already in car, two or three goes at speed trap gauging distance needed for run up, no rewinds,
  • Bamburgh Castle Danger Sign, 2010 Mosler MT900S - ‘Winter Zones’ (124 846 673) by Waznewz, used this tune due to been over P.R stunts for the day, already in car, a few attempts, mostly to clear objects, got it on 3rd or 4th try, no rewind on successful run.

Solo championships - Raced against Expert, Steering: Simulation, ABS: on, Traction/Stability: Off, Gearbox: Auto.

**Championship: “Let It Snow” | Road Racing | (S2 998) Koenigsegg
**Car used: 2011 Koenigsegg Agera (Autoshow 1,500,000 Cr)
**Tune: S2 Road / 941 450 712

Yeap, did this one for the reward. Although I don’t get the fuss, it is yet another cookie cutter same as what else is already in the game car, actual new cars please, not Koenigsegg blah blah version 2, the one with an extra bump on its back. Rant over. This event was actually pretty easy, all things considered (vs. expert). Tune is not running snow tires, so less speed in to bends is needed. While the pack did stay close, I had no real issues keeping them behind, and having space to spare over the final line. Tune is AWD, Forza aero, with race tires.

The rest of the events to come (hopefully) later.

Have a nice day.

Happy New Year to all!

Online:

**Seasonal Playground Games | Slate Quarry | (A800) GT Cars
**Car used: 2010 Maserati Gran Turismo S (Autoshow 156,000 Cr)
**Tune: A800 Games / 159 489 443

I have found this car to be a good well-rounded choice for the games in the GT class… not that it mattered, we still lost! Quick and nimble at this location. Tune is AWD, no aero, with snow/rally tires.

Solo championships - Raced against Expert, Steering: Simulation, ABS: on, Traction/Stability: Off, Gearbox: Auto.

**Championship: “Hogmonay Street Party” | Street Scene | (A800) Modern Sports Cars
**Car used: 2014 Alfa Romeo 4C (Autoshow 74,000 Cr)
**Tune: A800 Road / 171 558 277

I ran no snow tires in the S2 event, when really should of done so, now we will run snow tires in an event where it is really not a requirement - ta-da! Quick, easy to control, fairly simple win, with no issues to talk about. Tune is AWD, no aero, snow/rally tires, with the hazard lightbar (matches my chosen livery, can not share it as no longer exists, or user no longer exists - searching suoerbike safety car will find similar).

**Championship: “Breaking New Ground” | Cross Country | (A800) Offroad
**Car used: 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor (Autoshow 63,000 Cr)
**Tune: A800 CC Offroad / 138 009 364

Unlike last weeks cross country events in this same car/tune, this week was a breeze, very easy win. Tune is engine swapped for 5.8L V8 DSC with twin turbo, on full offroad tires.

Enjoy.

Imagine the brainstorming for this championship.

PG employee #1: Koenigsegg is from Sweden, right?
PG employee #2: Yup, right. Do you know what else there is in Sweden?
PG employee #1: Of course! There’s lots of SNOW!!!
PG employee #2: That’s right! So why not make players drive on snowy roads with hypercars to unlock the Jesko?
PG employee #1: Great idea! Since they’re from Sweden, they’ve got to handle snow well!

As for the car itself, it’s really nice all around. Kudos to Turn 10 for the immaculate scan.

It’s bizarre how few different cars people use for the trial. I think I’ve done it four times now and I’ve only seen teammates in the Lola, 512S and GT40. I would understand if they were the best options but they are not.

I tend to feel this the case for most Trials and PG events, what people will choose seems limited, and also seems unrelated to level (if that can be inferred to mean anything - Level 3/4/5 etc prestige players in untuned cars in the Trial is a go!). A lot of the time I see people seeming to pick what ‘looks’ fastest on paper, or is known to be fast (even if not a good choice for the event/location at hand), or just newest (by year) - with seemly no thought given to how it might work in the event.

For this Trial I feel there is going to be a lot of players who don’t have any Classic Racers in their garage, I feel safe in assuming a large amount of players would just delete or sell them on sight, with little regard or interest for the history of why they are in the game. There is a quite a feel C and D class cars in this lot too, something else that would be a target of people who like to ‘trim’ or ‘clean’ their garages.

So we have the Lola, which is the rental as I understand, also highest untuned non DlC, non exclusive P.I. car in the class. I expect we would see a lot of these due to my theory above.
GT40 is a barnfind, so most should have it, and otherwise easy to get if you were some sort of fool and deleted it. I feel this will be next most common choice seen.

I was surprised that I didn’t see any Alfa Tz2’s, is this not a meta car for offroad (not that I know off the top of my head if it was meta in S1), which leads to it at minimum been a viable choice on snow vs. A.I. (you know, because placing against your teammate isn’t a requirement to win), even if not best choice.

Also the Monaco… that car… also meta in offroad I think - I did see one of these in my tries, but either bad driver, bad tune, or both, as was always last vs teammates (did beat A.I.) - or just bad choice for snow?

The TZ2 is reasonable Offroad in S1 but not meta. It is a meta road car at A class so I can understand why people might not be using that - if you’ve only got one then it’s probably tuned to A class. Same for the Shelby Daytona which is very strong in A.

The Monaco is broken and is the best S1 car as a RWD power version in dry conditions but it wouldn’t be my first choice for S1 winter. Someone good can probably still make it work as it’s so fast but the standard trial driver wouldn’t be able to use it.

The 33S is the car I would expect to see more. It is a meta S1 dirt car (and also very strong in snow). I did the trial 10 or so times yesterday in different cars and it was easily quickest. Obviously expensive though, so understandable not everyone would have it - I’d still have expected to see at least one though! The Lola is also a meta S1 dirt car (properly tuned) and very quick on snow as well but I suspect that probably needs Manual Clutch to work properly.

My mistake, as I stated I was not sure if I had the class right, I was thinking it was A class a time of writing. Still my error, although feel would be a choice due to this…as i said (“at minimum been a viable choice on snow vs. A.I.”) but maybe not as the people who know this also know what you stated… so would not use it?

Completely my mistake… as knew even less about the meta status of this one - do note the one I encounter preformed poorly, as mentioned

Did not see any 33S 's either. Didn’t know this about the Lola, but all those I saw were clearly rentals - no tune.

I’m having a crappy week racing for some reason, my tuning is off, i’m not picking the right car and so on and so on.

Maybe next season but i’ve just about given up for this week, done all that’s needed bar the dailies.

Your winter TZ2 tune from March should be fun for the trial :+1:.
