Windows 10, Random crashes to desktop, game freezing

Hi, because al the sound issues I have with the Xbox version of Forza 7 I am now playing the PC version.

Randomly the game crashes to desktop, I have found no clear correlation with a certain action, or setting.

Also while driving sometimes the game freezes for a second or so and sometimes it stutters a bit. Game is fully updated as is the Nvidia driver.

There is a ‘memory leak’ problem. It is well known, but there is no official acknowledgement from Turn10. Search Forza 7 Memory Leak on youtube to see what’s going on. Hopefully they fix this. It’s limiting everyone’s ability to tune, paint, etc, as that’s where it happens most often.

I have seen that in the Forum, but this is just random crashing to desktop. Crashing is even a big word, it just closes and I am back on my desktop. No error codes or things like that.

Yep, that’s exactly what happens. It will just crash to desktop with no error message or anything.

Problem is, for me and for T10, I dont know if it is a background running proces/program is that causes it or Forza itself…

For some reason mp is causing this mostly for me. Or at least where it mostly. I would say that now it happens even more often. Quite difficult to get into multiplayer nowadays

In my case, FM7 can crash even in main menu. I’ve launched FM7 and left it in menu for a few hours. When I’d returned, the game was closed.
So, memory leak is not possible in that case. It was just main menu.

Memory leak can’t be fixed, there is a program called “MemReduct” which helps a little bit to extend the life of the game before it crashes. just have to wait for a forza patch update.

Performance issues can be improved a bit by the following information on a post i created here.
