I have seen some “rumors” flying around that Forza Horizon 3 's distribution License ends soon.
Forza Motorsport 7 released the following Year, and if following the same trend, would expire around the same time, a year from now.
I am concerned that there will be no downloadable Forza Motorsport game…
While I already own all the games, I own them Physically. If I adopt the Series S, (hypothetically… I’m getting the X) I will not have access to Forza Motorsport at all if this is true.
Again… Rumors are pointing to a 2022 release for Forza Motorsport… so that doesn’t sit well with me.
Probably. This time next year, give or take a couple months, I would guess.
Nothing’s going away, really. The game will remain playable for the foreseeable future. If you delete it from your system, you can still re-download it, and download updates for as long as Microsoft exists as a company and provides store services.
You just won’t be able to buy it anymore unless you pick up a disk at a yard sale or something.
I think the ‘S’ doesn’t have a disc drive - so he’s concerned his physical copies will be redundant, should he go down that road.
As fm7 is being added to gamepass soon, that would be available if he has the pass to download at launch but whether or not it will still be available in 12+ months time is anyone’s guess. To be fair, they tend to pop up on sale on the MS store pretty regularly heavily discounted, so should be able to pick it up before it is end of life for very little money.
