Why no Ferarri Horizon Editions?

The thing that interests me is that in previous games and early on in horizon 3 I tend to gravitate towards the Ferarris. But as my level get higher though the game, i find myself selecting the HE cars more for the xp, credit and skills boosts. So my goto cars are Lamborghini, Ford, Subaru.

How do T10 select the model to promote as an HE?

Which Ferrari would you like to see as a horizon edition?

I think they choose to have different category of cars. For example, there are American muscle, european and asian sport cars, classic oldtimers, trucks, rally cars,…

Might be something to do with Ferrari themselves being iffy with having customisation on their cars in video games.

Making a car into an HE car really doesn’t have much to do with customization. They just apply a bonus to a pre-existing roster car.

All production Ferrari’s have the same “limited” visual customization as other production cars (aero, stance, rims, paint, vinyls), and the 458 has a body kit. Regardless and based on the ones that have been released, the range of customization options seems neither to guarantee nor prevent a HE variant.

As far as I know, “why no HE Ferrari?” has not been officially revealed. So the real answer is up for speculation, but licensing terms, development team chose not to do it, and it’s planned are among the most plausible.

I do find it interesting that Italy as a whole is quite under-represented in the HE department. Below is a current list of HE cars/Total cars by country:

  • Australia: 1/11 = 9.1%
  • Germany: 4/57 = 7.0%
    - Italy: 2/81 = 2.5%
  • Japan: 6/71 = 8.5%
  • UK: 6/73 = 8.2%
  • USA: 14/152 = 9.2%

Notice how Italy is significantly lower than the others? It makes one wonder if HE Ferraris were planned (possibly as many as 4 or 5), but had to be scrapped due to (presumably) Ferrari’s policies.

Also it’s important to note that Ford, along with Ferrari, is one of Forza’s most important brands. It has 6 HE cars, the most of any other brand. It seems odd that Ferrari does not answer this.

All my HE cars PI (stock) are greater than their non-HE versions.

I’m not a great fan of Ferrari’s tbh, I sell them whenever I get one. Luckily they sell well on the auctions so I have the money to buy Japanese cars. I imagine the new Nissan Silvia HE will have Drift Boost but if it had XP boost I’d probably never drive another car again
