I set my cars up with maximum downforce most of the time but wouldn’t it be great if you could open up the rear wing or level it out for straight line speed during a straight ?

Some of the stock aeros do this (at least they appear to, not sure if it actually affects anything physics-wise). I know for a fact the 2016 Ford GT’s wing moves up and down depending on the speed of the car.
Yes, many cars have active wings and they actually don’t affect the physics of the game.
What the op was requesting was to be able to control DRS yourself, but it wouldn’t mean anything as they are just in the game for show, shame really.
