It doesn’t happen often, but it’s really annoying. And it only ever seems to occur on difficult races. What’s the point of having the feature if it won’t work? For example, even if I enable rewind for the third race of the cross country S1 900 Extreme Offroad seasonal this week, it doesn’t work. No amount of mashing Y will rewind a mistake. I need to race nearly flawless to win and that should be a goal, but I don’t have the time or patience. Please help.
Sometimes (but not always) quitting the race an restarting it will get rewind working…
You might need to do it a few times if it doesn’t work straight away.
This is a bug that has been around for months and has not been fixed yet.
If this bug occurs, you must quit the race once.
As far as I have confirmed, the race where this bug occurs will continue to occur even if the event is restarted. It is necessary to quit the race once from the pause menu or the menu before the race starts and challenge the race again. (*This is not the quit of the championship)
And, what is needed in this event is the car of the S1 class. It is never a “S1/PI 900” car. In other words, you can participate in cars that are almost close to Class A, such as “S1/PI 801”.
This will make driving a little easier and reduce mistakes.
I had the exact same issue with the last race of the community championship.
I know that the rewind bug can occur, and that is why I quit the race, I restarted the game, and ultimately I restarted the console.
It still didn’t want to rewind on that race.
I then did the same steps 3 times.
It still didn’t want to rewind.
My assumption is that because it’s a race that’s not taking place on an actual route, but rather straight up on mountains, it doesn’t know where to rewind you to. I know it doesn’t make sense, I know you can rewind during free roam wherever you are, but I am at a loss why this particular race would have such often-occurring rewind issues.
EDIT: And oh yeah, I eventually completed this race without any rewinds. Took me close to 10 tries. Horrible experience.
I had this bug a few times and - as nb3254 noted - only quitting the race helped. Restarting is not enough.
