I was racing for the one of the championships. As I was racing I missed one of the checkpoint, I press Y to rewind and nothing happened. I actually had to restart the race several times cause I couldn’t rewind. Anyone else experience the same thing?
It’s been since launch that rewind dont allways work, so in this point i start thinking it’s not bug it’s feature.
So you are not only one. And this tells lots in forza support when i send ticket abaout this and i say clearly that i have set rewind ON first question support ask “do you have rewind ON?”
It’s what happens when you have people working in support having no clue about the game they work for.
A few months ago I tried to explain the bug/exploit to join a class-restricted event with a car that doesn’t meet the restrictions.
The conversation was horrendous because I felt like I needed to explain the basics of the game to the employee.
How you explain when this happend in rivals? Or middle in the race when can be sure that nobody isnt crossed the finnish line?
One thing i have notice in rivals mode if you are not in horizon life when starting rivals rewind is allways worked fine, so maybe horizon life session has something to do that feature that rewind dont allways work.
Like Breeminator say it’s usefull that mistake dont cost 2 laps being dirty, for example monthly rival pushing last corner too hard and slightly hit the wall and it’s make current lap and next lap dirty. Another where rewind is time saver is when miss checkpoint. So instead of wasting 10 seconds because that can just use rewind quickly and save bit time.
I tested rivals today and 3 try’s when i was in horizon live session before starting rivals rewind didint work but two times when i was horizon solo rewind work.
I see, it does save you time in rivals. As for me I either restart, if I know the tracks very well, or finish the lap anyway if I don’t know them very well.
Rewind not working has been discussed before and it’s happened to me many times mostly towards the start or middle of a race. No-one was anywhere near to finishing the race.
I don’t know whether this is a solution but it seems to work for me. Now prior to starting a race I always check difficulty settings, turn off rewind then turn it on and press o.k.
It only takes a few seconds and since doing this I’ve not yet been in a race where rewind has not worked. Of course if it’s an on-line multiplayer event with real players I’ve never tried rewind so I couldn’t guarantee it in those circumstances.
Best advise, turn off rewinds and you’ll become a better racer. You’ll hate it at first but once you learn when and where it’s safe to pass you’ll become unbeatable.
I also advice people to not use rewind even if they’re amateurs because with it on they won’t need to improve their skills they will just keep driving like amateurs and use rewind whenever they make a mistake. There’s also no rewind in multiplayer to correct their mistakes. In fact I advice people to not use any of the “cheap” assists which are rewind, auto steering and auto braking.
This happens from time to time. No real pattern to it, just occasionally rewind does not work. If you are in a race and find rewind is not working, you need to exit the race, and enter it again from free roam. Just doing a restart from within the race is not enough to reset rewind functionality.
I had the same problem in the Quarry race yesterday, I tried restarting from within the race several times and also quit the race and re-entered several times, and could not get rewind to work. I switched to another car and it worked correctly.
I thought it was just me, as I’ve seen it a couple of times before.
I did have to restart this event a few times because the rewind was NOT working, very very annoying. Never gonna turn off my rewind because I hate to restart events. Hell I dont even like circuit races to be honest. Rewind actually makes me a better racer or is it a better tuner? Once I find that my car isnt hitting a turn properly at full throttle, I know I need to make adjustments. Rewind, approach at a different speed or a different angle. Once the event is over, I know where to stiffen or soften suspension
