Why can't I just buy the common clothing items I want?

I have 130 hours in FH4, have had over 500 wheelspins and over 50 super spins, have prestiged and own a castle. However, I can’t buy a pair of black wellies, some leather shorts and a pair of driving gloves… I’m probably going to have finished the game before I manage to finish the outfit that I’ve wanted to wear since I started playing the game!

As it stands, the majority of ‘common’ and ‘rare’ clothing items can only be won though wheel spins or buying them through the FP shop, which rotates 2 items weekly… It seems really strange that you’d make such a huge amount of clothing for players to wear and then withhold most of it from them? I’m sure that disappointing the players like this isn’t your intention, which means that something has gone wrong with the way that the game distributes the clothing.

So here are some ways you could fix this:

  • Let players who’ve prestiged simply buy the common and rare items directly from the avatar clothing screen for Cr.

  • Have a 2nd page on the #forzathon store with just clothing on it and rotate it daily.

  • Replace the rare and common individual clothing items on the wheelspins with tokens that let the player choose an item for themselves.

  • Have a small challenge attached to every clothing item, like “Do 50 drifts in the Datsun 510” or “Get 30 air skills in the Ford Fiesta XR2”. This would also encourage players to drive a greater variety of cars!

That’s just some stuff I thought of in 15 minutes.

So please Devs, can you fix this? On top of making players frustrated it must be making your art team sad to have spent so long on all these great clothes that players can’t manage to unlock and wear!

Thank you.

I, too, would like the option to buy the clothing I want. No one should have to dress by RNG.

Currently cheesing level 4 tuner to get the vest i want.

I wish they would just move most of the clothing and cosmetic stuff and put it into shops that exist in the game world - let players use their in game cash to buy clothes and outfits they want.

This takes away the annoying RNG element of not being able to find the items you want.
It also takes away the annoyance many of us have of having so many $0 items on wheelspins.

If you want to keep rarity then lock some of them behind achievements or milestones within the game - get to rank X in a series to unlock that T-shirt.

The idea is obviously to force you to keep playing and collecting wheelspins so eventually you end up with something that can be deemed wearable. Luckily on my second playthrough I got the items I was wearing on my first playthrough (and got them after 400+ spins) within the first 20 spins. Having all clothing items available with Forzathon points would make so much sense.

I like the OP’s suggestions. I don’t mind winning the clothes in spins, but there should be another way to get them eventually. In addition since there are seasons it would make sense to have some garments only available in that season. It’s winter now but I really don’t have a lot of good winter clothes to choose from.
