i have played both games previously in the past (bought forza 4 on it’s release). just re bought them again.
personally i still prefer 3 over forza 4. cannot explain it really but i do. although 4 is a great game.
will have to admit that i do prefer 3’s more relaxing difficulty setting compared to 4 (as i’m rubbish at games),also i do prefer being able to switch off the sfx if i want also (to listen to the soundtrack).
i know i’ll be in a minority of 1 on those reasons,but was just being honest about my reasons.
Some notable differences, but I enjoy them both. FM3, to me, has a very hard to describe… a “weighty” feel to it. Everything “feels” very heavy; the way cars slam down into the ground seems much more pronounced in 3 than in 4. For example, the other day I had the R1 event on Nurburgring and my car took on damage coming off of the “bump” - you know the one, in the last 1/3rd… I don’t think I have ever seen that in FM4. 3 seems on a different planet, more gravity. Also, traction seems pretty extreme in 3 compared to 4 - not sure how else to put it, not really more or “better”, but peakier (if that’s even a word). One other thing - with the stone simple brand affinity=free upgrades in FM4 compared to the oddness of FM3s scheme (I played FM4 first) I’ve never really had to worry about paying for car upgrades in FM4, feel “freer” in FM4 to try every conceivable option ;^)
I’m actually finishing playing through Forza 3 right now, mainly for the rewards and then moving on to Forza 4 again to finish that up. I honestly really like them both and there are things the other has that I like and some things I don’t. Like Designing said, the cars in 3 seem a bit easier to drive because it feels the cars have more traction, but that can be a bad thing as well. It’s fun though going back though and playing them to see how the game has progressed over the years. If I had to choose one over the other, I’d probably have to go with 4.
Forza 3 or 4? Man, that’s a tough decision, both are great; but if I had to choose one, it would have to be FM4 mainly for the '70 Camaro and Sears Point (Infineon).
I enjoy both but the one I like the most is 3 cause the tracks are tight and rougher the in 4 , but if you play in both 3&4 which I find in not so boring is that they have different setup’s for the same track but different patterns which is a nice change of pace. The car’s well in 3 lack alittle then in 4 , but in 3 the mag wheels looks better in 3 then in 4 .I also play Forza 2 too cause it is totally different but a lot of fun to play…
One thing that is different between forza 3 and forza 4 is in forza 3 you can turn the ghost car in free run mode off.
I don’t think you can turn the ghost car off in forza 4.
