Which Formula Drift car is your favorite?

The Chevrolet #777 (it’s kinda confusing that there’s two 777s) is kinda my default.
Lately I’ve been using the Ford 5 window for my drifting, though. That thing can really get sideways.

I drift using the M2. You can put it in 3rd and keep it there and then just modulate using the throttle. Very nice balance. One major complaint though is the netting used in place of the driver side window… it makes it harder to see the road when drifting right.

The M2 is very well balanced. It’s just a great drift car.

The Vette is crazy. I love how well it holds angle.

the RX8 with a 787b livery, but i dont use them for drifting , i download tunes to convert them to racecars. I love the rotary noise too.

Answer….all of them. Love getting better at drifting in Forza.

On top of that, I have multiple of each (including the Derberti’s and Hoonigan’s). I’ve actually made dirt, CC and road builds for most of the Drift car class. The FD 599 and FD 370 make for some pretty fun top speed S1 CC sprint cars. The FD older Supra I got up to 237 mph top speed on one of the CC courses.

Love to hear it! The more of them you drive, the more experience you’ll have in different cars.

It’s between the C6 Corvette and the ferrari, i love the corvette cause V8 muscle. But i like how aggro the ferrari looks. And with how much torque and power they produce, they can be very drag cars too.

What is there something else other than auto transmission

Not for me.

i must have racked up 1000s of skill and forza points with the 599,my most used car by a huge margin

I drove auto transmission in Forza for years. I got the Elite controller and switched to manual and I’ll never switch back. It becomes second nature in week or two and then it adds a whole new level of control, not just in drifting, but it racing in general. Combining breaking with downshifting allows for a more controlled apex and better acceleration out of the turns.

#43 Viper, used it for the 1,000,000 pt drift challenge.

I think you summed it up pretty well. My first Horizon game was FH3 when it came out. I played in automatic when I started that game and I stuck with it until a few weeks ago. I can never go back.

Drifting is so much easier. I can put the car in 3rd or 4th and just worry about keeping the car on the right line while maintaining angle. Racing is much better as you said. I’ve gotten so much faster going through and out of turns.

It’s insane how much something so minor changes everything. It doesn’t actually take long to learn, so for anyone who is afraid of switching to a manual, just go for it. The car I trained myself on was the Nissan R34 on the Emerald Circuit. A few laps there, plus some drifting, and I was set.

I feel this, I’ve played racing games since a young age, I don’t know if I’m allowed to say this but Gran Turismo started me on my car racing journey.
Forza, especially horizon completely changed the game for me as roaming around just added that extra coolness.
Never looked back, and it’s always forza now!

I have tried manual with my Xbox controller but just couldn’t get the feel, may have to try again after reading this, I also need the manual accolade too!!
Many thanks for your reply man, some good people in this forum

I have tried manual a few times. I play these games (key words: play and games) for enjoyment and relaxation. I’m 64 and Motorsport 8 or GT7/8 may very well be my last foray into the game world. I have no desire to drive anything other than an automatic in either a game or real life. Time to take it easy and enjoy life!

I was automatic only for a long time, and I might have stayed that way forever if it weren’t for two things.

One was my competitive spirit, since one of my friends was getting better than me and one of the reasons why was because he was able to push his cars harder being in manual. That started me on the quest to learn manual, but I found it frustrating and unenjoyable. Many attempts were made but none successful.

Then came the other reason, a little game called Art of Rally. I really wanted to play it, but the automatic in that game… well let’s just say it wasn’t great. It made the switch to manual easy, since playing the game was easier with it on, and the visual design of the game made it easy to not have information overload and feel like you’re juggling too many things at once.

It was still a struggle at first, but by the time I came back to Forza, it was already second nature and I just couldn’t go back. I’d estimate it took me 5+ hours of gaming total, 8 max. Now I find cruising in manual just as relaxing as I did automatic, if not more so, since the inputs are all muscle memory at this point and that extra layer of control just makes you so much more connected with the car.

I don’t think anything anyone could have said would have convinced me to make the switch, so I won’t attempt to sway anyone, just, if you ever find any game that might motivate you to learn, jump on it, it’ll be worth it in the end. Also I highly recommend Art of Rally, not just as a teaching tool but also as a plain awesome indie racing game.

The #530 HSV Maloo, super easy to drift and in the burnt orange/brown color I put on it it looks cool. The only car that gets close to being as easy to drift is my drift set-up Volvo 850.
