Where is the decent humanity of some ‘people’ !!! Reminded again last night of the maturity level of some of the ‘players’ that are present in public lobbies. My 14 year old son has recently enjoyed the fine art of drifting and has enjoyed racing online in drift lobbies. Last night after, not purposefully, tapping another car, he was bombarded with voice messages from this ‘player’ full of choice words and profanity, and vulgar instructions with what my son could do !!! This kind of ‘behavior’ is intolerable. I have warned my son that these type of ‘people’ exist and to be cautious in public lobbies, but the fact remains, that these type of ‘players’ are the lowest form of human. Really, a very sad situation, that these type of people react and act as they do online. This particular ‘player’ has been blocked, but very disheartening that these ‘people’ can interact and communicate their filth with a child online. Very sad.
You are not alone kool, the forza community is almost idyllic compared to a certain football and shoot em up game. Full of low lifes that seem to get off by insulting minors.
Football and shoot em up in one game could be interesting…
that’s a shame…
a teachable lesson? - some folks are best ignored/avoided?
don’t let it ruin a what should be a “good time”! I’d like to think there are more nice folks than… !
It’s one thing when that sort of thing happens to an adult, but when it happens to a child, it’s enough to make ones blood boil!!! Hopefully there’s a special place for folks like that!!!
that sucks, some people get too into the game. just drift. its not like your life is going to end if someone hits you. in like a week or two, that guy wont even care what your son did.
Personally I have voice chat disabled (so I can’t hear any other player in-game) and privacy settings so that only people on my friends list can send me messages. You might want to consider doing the same.
I love drifting myself, but what’s left of the drifting “community” on FM4 is toxic. It’s mostly made up of narcissistic 10 year olds with endless anger and hate, and “adults” that have a penchant for inhaling leaves while repeatedly using a certain racial slur in place of commas and other punctuation.
Just have your son stick to singleplayer and practice his drifting skills, or find some people on your friends list that you know aren’t total… Uh, donkeys.
Forza 4 is practically the only game I play anymore. Sure I got 5 and 6, but 4 has gave me a lot more in terms of friends. I run into some guys who are seriously fun to race with and even have been helpful throughout the years. A good Forza representive are going to be the guys who can handle their cool, even if they get bumped off the track by accident. They’ll give constructive criticism, but not be a total sausage about it. For me, I love helping people go faster. Whether it’s some 12 year old kid who just picked up the game, or a seasoned veteran who’s looking for that extra tenth of a second. Sure I’m not the fastest guy in the lobbies and I’m sure those kids aren’t the best drifters, but if you get worked up over a game because of a mistake someone had made, then personally you’re playing it wrong. You should be playing with a smile on your face, not with some unparalleled pride. It’s a shame your kid ran into some others who have an ego, but I promise you that you’ll find a community in which your son will be accepted and he can have fun.
Be sure to report the other player to Xbox for communications.
But if you ask me, the lobbies are still pretty much the same as they used to be. You have some really great people playing and you have some really deplorable people playing.
