In order for this community to grow and thrive, there must be respect for one another as car lovers and forza drifters.
I will not call out names, but to discriminate against someone, belittle them, and even verbally abuse people based on their ability to use manual w/ clutch or not is something this community doesn’t need.
Keep drifting fun, for everyone.
If anyone is willing to drift with me, a 10 yr forza vet who uses sim steering and no clutch, shoot me a friend request.
Well said FatCat, give me a shout on X1 GT: BeDoomed
God, I haven’t been here for a while but not much has changed, rason I mostly read, rarely post.
By the way, I drive without clutch too, and on controller not wheel. Somehow I am still around and enjoying being sideways through Horizon, Horizon 2, FM 5 and now FM 6. You don’t need full racing seat, with wheel, 3 pedal set and handbrake to join in the fun. I always thought this was the whole point, no matter your peripherals, settings or ability, if you want to slide, you are welcome to join and learn from vets.
… Oh goodness, is this stuff happening again? First it was the nonsense about tire compounds, now its about assists.
Regardless, feel free to add me by my GT (same as account name) if you’re interested in getting into some lobbies, I’m on rather frequently.
Yes, somehow I’m still around after all this time as well. I’ll add you BeDoomed, and I already have you added Cody since I’ve drifted with you and JJ a couple times.
I have not seen people criticize other people for not using manual with clutch, the people i met usually just cared about if you could drift xD But i agree with you, we don’t need this type of behavior on the forums.
hahahaha it was a battle KOTH lobby. If it was just a random tandem lobby then go for it, but competitive drifting has rules to make it more competitive. simple.
So making the field competitive by not drifting the way he wants to? I don’t get it, How does putting him at disadvantage make it an even playing field? What if he drifted sim steering with an Auto trans? what happened to drifting with what and how people wanted? (I don’t want to make to make it seem like I’m attacking you or anybody else). He should be able to drift anyway he wants. I’ve been drifting the same car since Fm2 and ill be damned if somebody is going to tell me I cant drift it. Which is why I don’t run in comps. Its drifting, it should be fun for everybody. Want to keep the field competitive? Go by the tire to weight rule or HP cap. Make your own rules. You shouldn’t limit somebody to drifting the way you want it. Everybody has a different style and pace they Race/Drift at.
First off, thank you for coming forward. You and me are the same in that we challenge ourselves to improve and be better drifters in all aspects. Our competitive nature in us makes us strive to be the best.
I’d like to point out It was not the fact you used clutch and I couldn’t that resulted in this thread, but the manner in which you and the others in the lobby addressed me, the other person who left because they couldn’t use clutch, and the rest of the community that took part in a recent competition. Regardless of skill level, people deserve to be treated with respect. A simple 'sorry we r going to be running with clutch on, maybe next time" would have sufficed.
That being said, I’m open to learning, and if you give me advice about tuning for using the clutch or any tips/tricks, then please teach me.
I have no quarrel with you, and hopefully we can be drift compatriots who can accept each other’s different styles of playing this videogame.
The new drifters in the community dont grasp the concept about keep drifting fun all they care about is trying to inflate themselves and belittle other people when they themselves are the ones who need improvement. competitive or not drifting needs to be fun and most of the community lost that mentality
I will repeat this, it was a competitive battle KOTH lobby, not just fun tandems. If it were just an open Tandem Lobby then by all means run automatic for all I care. Now when it comes to battling, None clutch users have a clear advantage when leading and when following by having to take one less step to make power to their wheels, this means the car reacts quicker in some cases. also when following a non clutch user it is generally harder because they are using an e-brake in place of a clutch which in turns slows them down more than usual but then cause them a faster spool and burst because they are skipping a clutch kick which allows them to pull easier. Also they don’t have to worry about stalling out, which a clutch user does have to worry about and can happen in the heat of a close battle. I also run VFD tire to weight ratios and 750hp cap, because like I said I like competitive play. If you wanna just be a fun drifter then maybe battle lobbies aren’t for you, but if you want to play competitive with some people who can drift nice solid smooth lines, then maybe play sim dmg, clutch, hp/ weight caps and stock-sport tires and see the difference.
Trust me I know the difference, The transition period from Forza 2 to Forza 3 with the addition of Clutch was a pretty hard transition for me. I just don’t understand competitive or not, drifting is about having fun. If he wants to drift without clutch why not let him? what’s the big deal. It’ll help you out or any other drifter out with following skills, leading skills and make you tune better to be faster.
Hey no hard feelings, I honestly had no idea it was that personal of a thing and we meant no disrespect. I think myself and the rest of that lobby assumed everyone was running clutch at a competitive level. I had no idea how touchy this subject was until the past couple days, sorry if your pride was hurt, or you felt disrespected. We just trash talk a bit much and I guess not everyone is used to such things. As far as advice just start running clutch and don’t ever stop, it took me about 3days - a week to learn the clutch and I’ve only improved faster as a drifter because of it. Also I use a tuning calculator for a lot of my tuning, I certainly recommend trying one out for a strong base tune then adjusting from there to suite your style. have a good one, Im sure we will bang into each others door sooner than later.
