Out of all their purple colors it looks to be “Viola Mithras”.
There is a google doc that has a bunch of manufacturer colors recreated by players.
However, you won’t be able to recreate this exact finish on other cars because developers use specific material settings not available to players.
Thanks for the reply
I just checked their own lambo site and it said the color is actually Viola Pasifae. The one u said was kinda like more pinkish but ill try and mess around with it
Appreciate u
When trying to match the factory colors I’ll just paint the hood so the old and new colors are right next to each other or at least in close proximity. Idk if it helps. Good luck! I like the color too
I really wish manufacturer colors had their proper names included. That, and actually including all manufacturer colors from all models years of said car. I don’t know how many times I’ve wanted to paint a car in a specific manufacturer color for that color to simply not exist in the manufacturer color section.
it’s a little silly but if the manufacturer doesn’t want it to happen then it isn’t going to happen, even if it’s not strictly IP-related the manufacturer still needs to be kept “on-side”, I presume that covers it
personally I think copyrighting colours is madness, by extension copyrighting the name of a colour is also madness but that doesn’t mean there aren’t IP laws that apply
I’m sure it’s more of a result of the developers just simply opting not to include names on their end (whether that was a creative decision or laziness could be debated) rather than manufacturer copyright red tape. Gran Turismo’s has had manufacturer color names for years now, and Forza’s never had it once.
oh, right, fair point if it was in GT
Holy moly i think im in haven. Even if the values aren’t 101 % correct i’d love to use this sheet as an overall blueprint into painting my cars. Thank you kind sir.
As i was playing nfs underground 1 this year and the crew motorfest i started thinking about wouldn’t it be cool if we also had a more simplified car paint/customization options without requiring the use and complexity of the livery editor? Because not everyone is gonna be like a master livery creator for obvious reasons.
For example: In Underground you can pick a vinyl or a decal and just have it apply on top of your car. You could place them on the hood, on the side and rear of the car. Why should everyone be basically reliant on hoping the community makes a certain livery, instead of giving everyone some simpler tools like this so we can all have a little more versatility when it comes to customizing our cars?
Take the crew motorfest too where you can apply a pre-set of liveries to every car, usually consisting of just a single or a few simple vinyls. It’s not something too crazy but at least gives the player some options other than just a stock or even custom color.
Where is the copyright issue in having a specific car listing it’s own manufacturer color names? I totally understand how mixing up car paints and names on other cars might not be to the manufacturer’s liking but i don’t see why they wouldn’t want the accuracy of presenting the colors correctly on their own cars?
I think the paint editor could do with a revamp, or at the least some new quality of life improvements. Like the option to input hex color values, or replacing some of the special paint colors like matte/semigloss/metallic/polished etc with sliders.
