does it matter the type of car, or is more to do with setup and tuning?
hopefully theres something i can buy in the autoshow

Most cars can be tuned to drift pretty good. but there are many cars ready to go for drifting. The Hoonicorn is my favorite, it comes ready drift stock, but if you want an even better tune try a drift tune from Don Joewon Song.
i used a souped up willy’s jeep in FH4 and i use it here in FH5 too
completed all drift zones at 3* with it
and i use it with an automatic transmission and no tune!
I have tuned up an R35 that does well.
Holden Torana. That was the way to go on FH4 specially for beginners (professional drifters probably would chose one of those awful formula drift cars). If it exists in FH5 i hope it is the same tunning it had out of the bat. But keep in mind most people dont have a clue about drifting. They will name just the car they like the most lol. Not the best for drifting. These questions are a complete waste of time.
2018 Ford #88 Mustang RTR is still one of the best drift cars since FH4… although I have only tried about 8 of the Formula Drift so far.
Hoonigan RS200 and Hoonicorn are great all-around vehicles that are also great for drifring. I used RS200 to get three stars on all of the drift zones and I use both of them for Arcade Drift events. You can also use any of the Formula Drift cars, but I think that Hoonigans are actually better.
is the hoonicorn a reward car with premium, or avail on the autoshow?
The BMW Isetta is very good, choose one of the drifting tunes, set it to manual and drive in 3rd with traction and stability off
