What if you could vote on cars to be added?

I don’t know if they falls under features wish list, but what if you could vote on cars to be added?

They would be a section on these forums dedicated to this.

You would have a option to add to the list of wanted cars. If the car you want to be added is already up their, you can hit a “+1” button next to it which adds to the total votes. The cars would be sorted by votes. End of each week, the car with the most votes would be added to Forzathon or to the game in general. This would eliminate the 116 page, 2177 reply wish list thread, down to maybe a list of 300 cars on this voting page. This can also remove people double posting, as the mod’s could moderate this page and remove twice of the same car and transfer the votes. This could really settle what the community wants car wise.

Your account must be 20 days old to suggest a car. This prevents trolls. You also must have at least 100 gamer score or 200 points to do this. This is so trolls can’t just create a new account to troll. Please suggest any changes to this in the replies.

You can vote from in the game from the show, or you could make a little advertisement / banner in the menu saying “Vote for upcoming cars on Forza Motorsport.”

This could be moderated by the mods having a special program that compares car names and if its too similar the mods will be alerted. The mods can also go in and delete and transfer votes if they are double posted. If a car has been added to the game, it can be added to a separated list of added cars wit the vote count next to them.

Mods can’t delete cars past 10,000 votes (You can suggest higher or less number. I’m not sure on the # of users on these forums), so they can’t get rid of cars they don’t want if they feel its getting too popular and want to ignore it. I feel like the mods would never do this, but its a safe check.

Mods can go in and fix spelling errors with the name of the car.

Next to the vote button is a button that links you to a discussion thread related to that car. The car has to be verified as a non-double posted and original to have this option. This will not be seen on the the main forums, only by the link form the voting itself.

You can sort by manufacturer, Most popular and New to search cars. As you are typing in the requested car you want to add, it will pop up on your screen all cars with similar names. So you don’t accidentally double post. You can also search a car model itself when you are going to vote.

Their will be no down voting, as people could just vote on the cars they want. You can’t vote twice, and can undo your vote.

I see lost of times where people will request a nice Honda or BMW, or Ferrari but it gets lost in the thread. These cars would of been perfect for a Forzathon.

This new idea could spice things up, as people can begin to see if people really agree with them. Imagine how much faster This website could be without a massive 2,117 reply thread with images.

Please leave your input below.

The voting will look like the picture below. Of course it would be styled differently to fit the needs of these forums, and their will be no description box. The whole idea is the general idea of how it should be.

Rain drop, drop top, this reply will move it to the top.

Stop bumpimg your threads.

The wishlist is there.

Anything else is based on a poor understanding of how long it takes to get a car in the game.

Also i assume you are not aware of the wishlist analysis thread nor are you aware of how T10 make use of the wishlist threads.

You can, it’s called the wishlist. Add cars you want to it, and the more people that have requested it, the more effort T10/PG seem to put in to acquire licensing for it.

Your idea wouldn’t work, requesting a car and having it come out in the game in a matter of days/weeks wouldn’t happen. Licensing negotiations would take longer than that, not to mention scanning the car in detail, building it up ingame, getting the specifications added into the game so it’ll perform correctly in the game, the list goes on. You’re looking at months and months of work per car.

On another note, what the hell is with the bumping a thread within an hour of posting it. It’s a sure fire way of having it locked quicker. Not only because it’s not in the correct place, but can also be perceived as spamming.

Ding ding ding. We have a winner.

Realistically, if something like this were to be done, the DLC pack would come out very late in the game’s life cycle, if not being the first DLC pack of the next game. OR…Turn 10 could give a list of cars they planned to add in the current game, and then we all vote based off of that, but there goes any element of surprise, for better or worse.

There was a “Community Choice Classics Car Pack” in FM3. I believe Jalopnik and T10 partnered as well for some sort of content, maybe Jalopnik’s DLC, maybe just new cars for the game in general, I can’t remember. It’s been years.

I would not, however, be opposed to a/another community-voted car pack, regardless of how it was done. It would have to be widely publicized though, to get the most amount of input and variety of answers. The forums aren’t exactly as lively as they used to be.

I was just at T10 HQ this week, and I can tell you that I’m interested in working with them to streamline the car wishlist process, but thinking you can treat this like a vending machine or just spitting out a new emojii is going off the deep end. The reasoning for why there isn’t going to be a QuasiBiscuit Car Pack is stated in the first post of the Car Wishlist. It has nothing to do with moderators or “ignoring” the community. Users can’t be the sole or primary determining factor for adding content. And you’re not even seeing the fault in your own logic: if the list of 40-50 DLC cars was determined solely by democratic vote, you definitely would not get every car you want. You need to embrace this reality.

If you want to vote on a car you want, use the wishlist thread already in progress.
