Hood aero weighs less and adds PI but how? Is the drag reduced, downforce increased?
Same for the rear bumper aero. There’s almost no visual change but it appears to make the car better in many areas. How? What’s the actual stat being changed

Hood just reduces weight (carbon hood) and moves center of weight slightly to rear.
rear race bumper on surface looks like just hook/strap, but in reality it have significant impact on car handling, depending on car, rear race bumper can reduce oversteer (1st ford mustang for eg), while in other cases can fix understeer issues, u can see how grip values changes, u can imagine rear race bumper as flat underbody/rear diffuser added to car.
Back in the early Forza titles, the rear bumper added a functional diffuser that you could see. It carried the relevant benefits of a diffuser: reduced drag, improved downforce.
Didn’t realize it still carried that function until Aka’s comments, but it makes sense. Weird that they can’t model in some junk generic diffuser tray if that’s the case.

Learning the importance of the race rear bumper really boosted my tunes performance. Always try it out. In some cases it’s easily the best pi/ performance ratio part.
Itl increase PI 1-5 points but lower lap times at least half a second, usually
Much more.
So the race rear bumper adds downforce AND reduces drag?
Just to make sure I understand, I know the ugly Forza aero reduces top speed but adds grip, does the bumper only add grip? With no top speed penalty? Is the top speed actually increased as well if drag is reduced? Sure it’s not adjustable like the wing but it looks better and seems more like an upgrade
It’ss serious upgrade. Try it on the r34
It adds rear downforce, sadly in this game you need more front than rear most of the time and I believe in balance beats grip.
Ground effects increase downforce with no drag penalty in real life. The only reason the 2022-2025 F1 cars aren’t the fastest F1 cars ever is because they’re 200 kg heavier than the 2017-2020 cars.
Ground effect cars were the start of drivers passing out in F1 due to the extreme forces the cars produced with their high cornering speeds.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a real time attack car not running a diffuser these days!
It’s not entirely true, in some cars adding rear race bumper, can reduce understeer. There was one car that regardless of what I did, it would not turn at all, but once I added race rear bumper, understeer problem got fixed.
