What do you think the car restrictions for the 'Hatch Me If You Can' Trial will be?

The Spring Trial ‘Hatch Me If You Can’ will be going live tomorrow, and what we already know is that the prize for winning this Trial is the 2007 Renault Clio RS 197. But what we don’t know is what the car restrictions for this Trial will be. As we know, the Trial events - and all other seasonal events for that matter, apart from the Seasonal PR Stunts - place restrictions on what cars can be used in that seasonal.

Judging by the title of this Trial, I think that the division will either be ‘Hot Hatch’ or ‘Super Hot Hatch’, and as for class restrictions, if it’s ‘Hot Hatch’ it will probably be restricted to B class, and if it’s Super Hot Hatch, it will probably be A class. We won’t know what the car restrictions for this Trial will be until it goes live.

There are a few templates: Retro Hot Hatch C600, Retro Hot Hatch B700, Hot Hatch B700, Super Hot Hatch A800.

The problem are the events…

This is really good example how bad this system is for tuners, we know pretty mutch nothing upcoming events so tuners cant make tunes ready for seasonal events even tho there are lots of peoples who will want tune for those cars right away and in trials this have biggest impact when peoples show up with bad cars.

It’s A class this week and it’s rare to have the same class for a trial two weeks in a row. I’m guessing B class hot hatch.

Even once an event goes live it’s difficult to know what cars are eligible. The show eligible cars button only shows which cars are currently eligible, not the underlying rules or what cars could be upgraded to be eligible. Poor UI design IMHO.

On the topic of hot hatches, I’m still waiting for my Toyota Blade Master G.

It’s only difficult if it’s one of the specialty categories (David vs Goliath, for example). The normal championship types are easily filtered in your garage.

very rarely do i have to build something new. i just recycle and reuse cars i’ve built before. had 2 renaults from a seasonal fwd championship and a vw r32 and jcw cooper from a seasonal hot hatch championship. chances are that any tuner that’s been around for a while already has tunes up that’ll work.

I just use the map, filter the seasonal events and hover over the event itself. it shows exactly what’s eligible.

B700 Hot Hatch, predictable.

Oh, and it’s 4 races this time instead of 3.

Trial is hated by many people here, but, quoting a certain someone, “forums constitute a small part of the fanbase”. Discord is a small part of the fanbase as well, but in Discord there’s only blind praise, so it seems to matter more.

Oh well, at least it’s not S2 Street Scene in Winter or, heavens forbid, PGG.

The Trial :: Catch me if you can

The 2003 Volkswagen Golf R32 running the tune by HannsDampf has spectacular launch and speed.
You will be in the lead very, very quickly.
Slow down in the corners, though, once in front to slow down your opponents to allow your team to catch up.

The. Clio 2010 tune by ZiperrPL should work well at the trial. It’s FWD so may take a little getting used to but it’s a very good hot hatch. I won all four races in it by a distance.

Should also flag this is also only particularly useful if you run manual clutch, as it uses the stock gearbox which will be very slow to gear change in auto/manual. Worth trying though if you do use MC!

I’ve got the Audi RS1 B700 AWD and i came 3-4th in races but my team-mate had a Golf R32 and he was 1st all the time (we lost just the 3rd race)… and we were just 2 vs drivatars

I used a Clio 10 with a tuning by NormalFahrer44. I prefer AWD cars, but with this low 700 PI FWD or RWD works fine. Had good teammates who did great clean races. 4:0 was an easy win.

Had two teammates, so we were a trio. I tried the NormalFahrer44 tuning mentioned somewhere above. One of the teammates did not even care to use a tuned car and came with a stock one. Although I won three of the four races the other two drivers were so bad that the result was a 2:2 draw with no Renault prize given. How does anybody think he can be useful with a PI 618 car in a trial ?

As has been stated many many times in the past
These are usually the people that rent cars for the event or only have unused eligible cars
Since you dont have the option to auto upgrade once the event starts they cant upgrade
And a lot of people dont invest time in upgrading before hand

DS3 racing manual clutch ( tune shared ) - you get ahead of the pack in the very first seconds of the race, slow down the pack allowing your team mates to pass, half team ahead is enough to win the cs.

don’t be mad at me because of suggesting blocking, it’s only drivatars, not to do with real players, that’s for sure.

if you need help, you can msg me on xbox or simply look in your session and ping some high level, most of time they will be happy to get in !
