What do you think of Forza Horizon 5 now compared to release date?

I can second this. I don’t come across flying or teleporting cars because I don’t play eliminator and also don’t really care for leaderboard times but I still “suffer” from it basically on a daily basis when driving tours.

In the tours it’s often not so obvious as the people seem to have learned to not go “full bonkers” with their mod menus by now and rather just use some features temporarily or with just some slightly upped values. It’s still noticeable as there basically always are certain observable patterns like a basically constant zig-zagging even in corners that can’t be attributed to their input method. Sometimes you can also observe something that somebody here called “floppy wheels” where the front wheels constantly move from lock to lock at an impossible speed which is an indicator that there’s an “assist” running in the background. Black lines on straights from acceleration boosts is an other obvious indicator.

I’ve done some research on that matter and know how most of the stuff is done by now. It’s crap like this that gets used.

Note: I’ve pulled this shot out of a video. It’s from a tool that’s no longer supported from what I got. I’ve got the full screenshots with playername and everything in case the authorities want to have a look.

As you can see these mod menus offer a variety of options and combinations to cheat. Like upping the speed, velocity and gravity or using a turn assist. These “features” can even be mapped to a button so they won’t be active all the time. So, if you see somebody making a slightly too fast start and get ahead in an impossible way or somebody that permanently stays ahead of you even if he shouldn’t because the driving style simply doesn’t fits it’s presumably one of these menus in use.

I’m SICK AND TIRED off this!!!

On the technical side its definitely better. Yet i still experience performance issues. Just before expansion 2’s release i started getting some specific fps drops and they only got worse when the expansion dropped. ( pc user ) And so It’s left a bad taste in mouth when it comes to game stability overall.

It hasn’t changed too much. The re-introduction of custom racing and the xp leveling up (1000 levels) system was the last bigger feature update that i liked. And they haven’t bothered updating anything else on the same scale maybe untill now and the upcoming eventlab 2.0 update.

The expantions didn’t really meet expectations and they introduced even more performance issues that affected the fun factor for me and some other issues. It was like Horizon 5 re-released twice and they repeated twice the state that they shipped the base game just on a smaller scale. And on top of that the expansions were something that was done before.

Festival playlist im not gonna repeat myself about that one. I liked a lot of the new cars added but at some point it just stopped being a factor that defines a great post launch support. Nothing has changed here. Maybe the devs started caring slightly more about what they put out and how its being perceived but thats it.

More forza, more cars, same game

Ever since they released the Rally DLC, the game has been running much worse. It crashes to the home screen constantly on the Xbox One. There’s also terrain glitches where the terrain literally doesn’t load for several minutes on RA. The Donut update made it even worse by breaking search functions and making the EventLab unusable.

It feels like they’re fixing bugs but adding new ones to balance it out.

The Xbox One is not suitable for FH5, not even the One X. I played FH5 briefly on a One X before I got my Series X and it was so bad. Endless loading times and it didn’t run nearly as smooth as the 60fps on the Series X. If you can get a Series X I highly recommend it

The crashes are still pretty frequent on my Series S as well, as soon as the game completely stops for a few seconds I now fully expect it a couple of seconds after it starts again, can happen to me when changing cars, finishing Rivals runs or installing tunes and there is no sign or indication of when it will happen.

Like I have said in another couple of threads including this further up it has even done it when I have paused the game and left it there, I’ve never come across another triple-A game that can have a meltdown without any user input.

Stuff like this is why I don’t believe gaming has made any significant progress in recent years outside of graphics, just because we can’t see, feel or play it doesn’t mean stability isn’t important.

And Christ almighty in that aspect I think modern games are about as advanced as going to the toilet was in Shakespeare’s time.

The monthly updates are going well, but slowly compared to what they did in FH4. There are bugs that have not been fixed since day 1 of release. At the moment I can only say the following… In what the game makes you feel, motorsports, fun and things in general; This is my top of Forza Horizon that I have personally played…

FH4: Surprised with quite a few overall additions to the game since FH3, it’s hard to get bored in the UK if you’re playing from the beginning. FH3: Improved the quality of the game a lot and the overall experience, Australia was a good place to drive through. FH5: I like it, but it doesn’t make me feel what FH was before… now they even black out parts of the radio tracks😕

Actually, compared to what FH3 and FH4 were, it is leaving a bad taste in my mouth and even more for having bought the best version in advance and seeing that the previous installments catch you better than what is new! For example; I feel like the Hot Wheels map is better in FH3 than FH5, personally. I know well that perhaps we are halfway to closing updates, but as I said, there are errors from day 1 that have not been fixed until today.

Had perfect proof there’s still some way to go just now, did the Open objective and got put into the map to wait, saw this…

0 friends, only FH5 played, 80 gamerscore and they don’t even have the achievement for unlocking the first player house.

Yet weirdly in the race they were rubbish and quit before the end.
