No.
My guess would be at xbox showcase 2025 with a reveal trailer.
No, not a crumb.
On the other hand, FH5 continues to be fed with great assiduity, FH4 has had a nice existence I think they plan to shoot even longer in Mexico. We can even expect this phenomenon to intensify, with game occurrences getting longer and longer (from 2 to 6+ years of development) and lasting longer with live-service and FOMO.
I kind of miss the days when, alternately each year, we could look forward to a new destination to discover and a new Motorsport. The feeling of “newness” doesn’t exist as much in this new formula, despite the added content new cars new game mode, I feel like I already know everything about this game, it’s been years that I’ve been doing the rounds (because it’s a very good episode) I’m waiting for something new!
Not a new car pack or a new mini-game, but a new destination, new horizons and new objectives.
I believe that Fable is expected Spring 2025. With GTA VI later that year, that ostensibly leaves Summer free for FH6, but big launches rarely happen then, so I’m doubtful.
If they aimed to avoid GTA by launching in Spring '26, were that game to be delayed, they’d run bang slap into it anyway. So I think they could have total confidence in their IP and launch in Autumn '25, along with the latest EAFC, COD and other annuals. And if the setting were to be a much-requested one, it would generate enormous buzz.
There’s room in enough people’s wallets for two mega games in the run up to Christmas, just as there can be two blockbuster movies in cinemas - they just both need to be good quality. On which note, GTA VI could be yet another AAA dud - as could FH6. But COD and FH6 will be on Game Pass day one so the financial outlay will be less for those two. For XBox it’s about increasing subscriber numbers, not sales.
What might also determine a future launch date is if FH5 goes to Playstation, which would probably stave off replacement for a while.
Since the Backstage is coming back, FH6 is not far away anymore. I’m 90% sure well see an announcment within the next 6-8 months.
Also since we’ve been given a lot of japanese cars in the last few updates, i think it wouldnt be that foolish to say that FH6 migh actually be placed in Japan. You could also argue that we’ve had allot of Chinese and Korean cars over the games lifespan, so those 2 countries are also very likely. South-East Asia as a whole could also be an idea, or maybe a whole different asian country.
It could also just be that the developers see that japanese cars are the most “hyped” cars by the community, so they bring in loads of them to keep FH5 kinda active and alive.
I am a bit afraid they will stop taking themselves serious completely at this point. Forza Horizon tuned into a casual game with FH4 and moreso with FH5 so FH6 will probably build on that, as that is what the majority of the community knows as Forza Horizon.
But only time will tell and please dear fellas … dont expect the game to be ground breaking or anything. After Mototsports release and even the state FH5 was released in, i think it isnt worthit to speculate too much (myself included, as I know I like to speculate allot and get my hopes too high).
It will be very brave of Playground games to release Horizon 6 next year at around the same time as the Grand Theft Auto 6. That game is going to be massive.
Yes indeed.
If i remember correctly, in the series 33 livestream (you can watch the replay from YT), the developers were talking about japan at the beginning of the livestream.
I don’t think so. The reveal trailer and 5-8 min gameplay might be revealed at the xbox showcase 2025 [or 2026] but the release will be 2026 [or 2027].
A post was split to a new topic: DairyDuchess355 Car Wishlist
My money is all-in on FH6 being announced at E3 2025 followed by release later in the year between Oct and Dec, just like FH4 and FH5.
FH4 isn’t even officially de-listed yet, Backstage Passes were just introduced to FH5, and FH5 is still getting new and “new” content, including a whole new game mode (if it can be called that… lol). I think it’s extremely unlikely we’ll see anything official about FH6 until at least Q2 2025.
Since the Update 40 lets go stream is the last one of its kind for a while, and also we have the backstage back and no car pack for months now, so realisticly speaking if we dont see anything about FH6 in 2025, it doesnt make sense.
Hi.
I think the reveal will be at xbox showcase 2025, but the full release will be at 2026.
Very reasonable since FM was also actually planed for a q1 release i think and also GTA 6 being released next year is also a risk
They should make so that you can change the color of the interior of the car
Hey! I’d like to add up a little more to my initial theory/prediction i posted back in February, which was a few months before the 2024 Xbox Showcase that happened in June.
So… Xbox announced this:
At this point in time we can scratch some of the games showed on this promotional image, right? Obviously not all of them had a release dates, some of them were aimed at releasing in the last quarter of 2024, some of them are set to release in the first quarter/early 2025. And other games like Fable have no release date, other than just “2025”.
I started this whole prediction thing by saying Fable will release before Forza Horizon 6. And so judging by this lineup and the fact that Fable’s on the line, and Forza Horizon isn’t yet, it looks like that will be the most likely outcome. Now I fully understand it’s two completely different teams, working on two completely different games and all , but that’s beside the point. The point is that Fable has a release window, and Horizon 6 hasn’t even been acknowledged it exists. So how do i extract from that a possible Horizon 6 release time frame?
Well one thing i find certain is that, until most of that list is ticked off, we’ll probably not hear or see anything related to Horizon 6. The very least not in the first or second quarter of 2025. But then quarter 3 aligns pretty much around summer time, which is usually when we hear game announcements. That doesn’t mean we get a release date but it’s likely they’ll be at least a release window or a smaller announcement, similar to the one shown in the picture above.
Also judging by the fact that Fable has been in development for many years plus the current gaming climate, it will likely have issues that will need to be ironed out before release. Which makes me think it’ll be pushed as much as possible towards a release date around late 3rd or the 4th quarter of 2025. Also the general concept of games taking longer to make, i doubt Xbox is eager to release Horizon 6 as early as possible especially since they already have a pretty stuffed lineup for the first 6 months.
I also think Horizon 6’s release will be somewhat tricky for Xbox. And i’ll get into why in the second part of my TED talk under this comment.
And now specifically about Horizon 6 and why i think it’ll be a tricky release: In the post above i’ve established the reasons why Horizon 6 is not coming out soon. So i’d like to talk more about the release itself and a few calculated predictions i’m going to make about it.
In order to do that i’d like to go back to 2021 and the release of Forza Horizon 4 and 5 on steam. Let’s imagine Horizon 6 releasing in a month time.
If i was Xbox, i would be thinking about sales numbers and how to reach them. One thing i would expect is that the game sells just as well as it did back in 2021 or more, at least. So how do i do that? We’re not 2021 anymore. And Horizon 5’s success wasn’t just a lucky spin. 2021 was a very different year and it had a few things that were previously set in motion, in order for the game to secure it’s path to success.
On one hand we had covid, which really helped boosting the gaming industry as a whole including Xbox. On the other hand we had the release of Forza Horizon 4 on steam, which was part of a movement about bringing more Xbox games to Steam, something that turned into a standard today for all first party Xbox game titles. Combining all these factors together, it all became the perfect storm for Xbox and the future of Forza Horizon as Horizon 5 released a few months later and saw tremendous success.
But now we’re 2025. How do we replicate that success? No covid. Next game is about to release on the current gen only, which means instantly excluding a certain portion of the players that are still stuck on the Xbox One generation. We’ve already sort of double released Horizon 4 by making it available on steam. And then we released Horizon 5, which is very likely already in the library of most players that would be interested in our game. How do we create that “perfect storm” again? What do we need to set in motion, in order to secure our path to success? We’re certainly not going to sell the new game as much as we did back in 2021 by doing nothing.
And now to the rumors and how i predict everything will stitch together for Horizon 6:
You’ve probably heard about Horizon 5 and 6 potentially coming to the ps5 right? I think if Xbox is looking to replicate or at least meet similar success, they’ll rely on the ps5 to do that for them. They’ll basically try to replicate what they did with Forza Horizon 4 and 5’s release on Steam. But obviously this time they’ll need a fresh platform. And what’s a better place than playstation and the ps5? It’s a massive platform. All they have to do is set up the everything in place. And i can make the argument that they already sort of did that.
For example Xbox’s recent ad campaign “everything is an xbox”. A few games have already been released/set to release for the ps5, including the most recent Indiana Jones. So i think the rumor about FH5 coming to ps5 will probably become reality. Along with announcing FH6 coming to Xbox Series X/S and PC with a later date for the ps5 and ps5 & pro. Now that’s the perfect storm! Assuming they’ll do their best to correctly set up the time frame between the FH5 and FH6’s release.
And finally again sticking to a Late 2025/early 2026 release date for FH6. Assuming it’ll be announced by a quarter 3 or 4 of 2025. Also some people were suggesting that Grand Theft Auto 6’s release will make everyone else wary and not want to release around it. I agree with that and i think in order for this strategy to work, Xbox will have to take this seriously into consideration. So the likelihood of this plan to fail is reasonably high, unless there is some inside info that we don’t know about and potentially GTA 6 being delayed, might help with the execution of it.
The next update has just been revealed on social networks, it is the most lean in three years.
Little novelty, I think we are slowly reaching the end of a cycle that will have lasted (enough)!
However, the numbers for FH4 and FH5 still seem good, with the gamepass it is the guarantee of new arrivals of players constantly, this must redistribute the cards in terms of game programming.
Personally, it’s a shame because I’m really waiting for the next one. And the fact that it will be 6 or 8 years between each title does not delight me.
To say that there was a time, every year it was Motorsport, the next year Horizon. Belle époque! The game service is pulling the string for a long time now.
What you say about GTA VI, I’m mixed on the issue too. Everyone is making a mess, it will scare all the editors, the ogre of Rockstars will eclipse everything in its path. It will probably be a very good game, again I regret this mastodon effect that blocks all the other releases, because I really do not care about GTA 6.
I’m waiting for FH 6, Asseto Corsa Evo too, I would have liked a new GRiD, I would have liked Project Cars 4 (was canceled by the studio hahahahaha)
Hi.
I still think the reveal will be at xbox showcase 2025, while the release will be spring or summer 2026.
I don’t think 2026, I think its going to be mid to late 2025.
Mid is too soon, especially if the game is using the new forzatech engine. (Currently, FM is using it.)
