Down force doesn’t add weight to your car. It still weighs the same as your down force increases but your grip goes up because of it. You need to tune dampening and ride height to compensate for down force increasing spring pressure would be the last step to fine tune down force, and ofcorse you would need to tune break pressure again for more response and smoothness

I recently got a Corvette C7 Z06 and fully upgraded the car (but left the drivetrain and engine conversions untouched). I immediately noticed that my C7 got quite a bit of wheel-spin when I launched the car from a dead stop and it got sideways really easily in the first couple gears. I wanted to know how I could tune the car so that it doesn’t get too much wheelspin when launched and so that it gets sideways occasionally. If possible, I also wanted to make sure that the car is very controllable in the event that it does get sideways.

Here’s the Corvette’s current tune:

Tires: 29.5 PSI (front), 30.5 PSI (rear)

Gearing: (I haven’t even touched the car’s gearing.)

Alignment: 0.0° camber (front and rear), 0.0° toe (front and rear), 5.0° for the fromt caster.

Anti-roll Bars: (I didn’t even install those.)

Springs: 1,070.9 LB/IN (front), 1,070.9 LB/IN (rear)

Ride Height: 3.5 in (front and rear)

Rebound Stiffness: 14.8 (front and rear)

Bump Stiffness: 6.6 (front and rear)

Front Aero: (Not installed)

Rear Aero: 230 lb

Breaking Force Balance: 64%

Breaking Force Pressure: 100%

Acceleration: 75%

Deceleration: 75%

You need atleast a front roll bar for one. Add like -0.3 negative chambering on rear so the tires squish flat and -0.1 toe in on rear that should help. Also decreasing rear tire pressure to 28 is a start. That start taking those gears and dampening settings.

Does anyone know the closest thing to a 4A-GEU 20v for a AE86 and the engine swap name?

Hello I am having trouble tuning my ford gt for turning. The tires keep slipping on turns, and I’ve tried changing most of the settings one by one, I’ve also tried RWD but it doesn’t help too much, and I don’t want to lose my acceleration. I have a formula for some of the settings, (Max setting - Min setting) x weight ratio + Min setting. And for rear settings I use the same equation but the weight ratio for the rear. I’ve also messed with toe in and out. I have 0.1% for front and -0.1% for rear, and I’ve tried increasing and decreasing those and it’s not helping. Help would be appreciated, Thank you.

Just use the damping troubleshooting thing in the guide. Damping helps a lot.
