I’ve noticed that when I do an extreme offroad race in BM there’s usually a couple of warthogs way out in front of the pack all the way around. I don’t mind because it makes the ai actually challenging for once, but it seems like they’re pretty overpowered compared to everything else. Anyone else noticed this or is it just a quirk of my line-up or something?
I’ve noticed the same thing.
They’re pretty much untouchable unless I’m in my Terradyne Gurkha… then I’ll eventually catch up and still win the race. I’ll come across that situation in blueprinted “Anything Goes” exhibitions.
Now that I think about it… maybe I should get to tuning a Warthog for snow racing? Hmm.
Yeah racing online has a similar issue, I was racing in the new Subaru last night and in the lead throughout the race, but there was 1 warthog that was constantly behind me and couldnt lose him at any point of the track until he cut a corner to try and wipe me out and only screw himself over XD
It will would of been cooler if the warthog has the same controls as it did in the halo game ( where you use the analogue stick to steer and accelerate )
Plus that could help nerf the OP vehicle.
They are very grippy so if track is tight grippy track you’ll be hard pressed to get away. But if it’s a fast track. I would imagine them not being an issue. They top out pretty quickly in top speed department.
Same could be said about a Gurkha winning. Personally I just deal with it. If you can’t beat them I join them. If I don’t want to I just race my race – but I don’t expect to win just shoot for top non “xxx” vehicle.
There won’t be warthogs at the top of kingmaker. Least not for long.

The thing to do is get pass the Warthogs way out in front ! I’ve done that, but I still don’t have the Warthog and would like the opportunity to win it again in Forzathon this week!
They accelerate amazingly and handle pretty good, so on tight twisty tracks or uphill tracks in blizzard mountain they dominate. They also do really good at the rough terrain stuff. I can beat them in the normal game since I carry more speed through the corners than the AI but on blizzard mountain if you are in a RWD (like the Ford 100 Trophy) they will just walk away on every hill.
At this point just spend the 250,000cr on one in the auction house, they gave out so many of them that everyone that wants one has one and are trying to sell the others. I have gotten 3 or 4 of them gifted to me since release.
Yep, I’ve noticed this as well. I wanted to do some offroad buggy races in blizzard mountain during the last forzathon so I could get the gurkha but because the buggies are rwd and the warthog is awd and the cross country races go through some deep snow I couldn’t win. So I ended up blueprinting a few offroad buggy races with only rwd offroad vehicles. Had to do the same thing to get the achievement for the f100 trophy truck.
Not OP, just heavy. The heavy vehicles grip much better in these slippery conditions. It, the Gurkha, and the big trucks do really well on the mountain…
They seem to be most troublesome in the corners, as far as S1 goes, I’m typically in the RJ Pro 2 trophy truck, and I get them in the straights. AWD conversion, Twin Turbskies, 1200hp, the Warthogs can’t keep up over 120mph
