VIR Available to all or just Porsche DLC Exclusive?(see post 2)

Microsoft need that money to give 70 cars for free to windows 10. You must understand this. That strategy is the end of xbox.

I already traded my xbox one for a Intel i7-6700k CPU, 32GB RAM, NVidia 980 Ti and a SSD to run FM6 Apex in 4k. /s

with these specs you won’t run 4k above 30fps. need to sli that 980 ti. 32 gb ram is overkill unless you’re doing sony vegas. 950 pro nvme is a beast btw

So 20 dollars for a track that can`t be used in hoppers. I have no interest in porsche. This is so ridicelus

No. It is $20 for a set of 20 cars, and a track. Just because you aren’t interested in the cars, doesn’t mean they aren’t included in the price. If you don’t care about the cars, that’s fine, but that is what T10 is selling.

True. But that still means that I have to spend $20 for a track and 20 cars, however, I am not interested in those cars at all. Turn 10 should have sold the track separate if they are in need of money.

Your thinking here is wrong. It is $20 for 20 cars, that happen to have a track added for extra value. The bulk of the value, and the selling point for the expansion, is Porsche. VIR is an added bonus for those who purchase Porsche. If you choose not to, you’re no worse off than you are now. Plenty of people are not going to buy the Porsche pack, and the vast majority of those who do are going to spend most of their timeline in the regular leagues and hoppers. If you’re considering paying $20 just to get the track, and have no interest in the cars, or the added single player stuff, well…I can’t tell you how to spend your money, but that seems foolish to me, even if the track was in regular rotation in the hoppers.

I’m not one for complaining, but I find the idea of making VIR only available to people who buy the Porsche pack puzzling. I’m super excited to have another track added to the roster, but that track will be pointless to those of us who spend all of our time in leagues, as I can’t see a way that it can be included in the rotation if not all players have it. I really hope this decision can be revisited, or there is a plan in place to make it available to all, or included in the hopper rotation, but I’m guessing not. As pointed out earlier, a VIR and or Porsche only lobby will quickly become empty once the newness wears off.

People complaining on this thread seem to think that the game is made entirely for them.I like leagues but the numbers competing are in the 100s.Why would Turn 10 cater to league players or even multiplayer players? They are a tiny percentage of Forza players. Most players race offline against AI.

$20 may be a lot for some people but you are getting a whole bunch of Porsches and a track.Pretty good value IMO.

I made no comment about the price of the Porsche pack! I’ve already purchased it! My problem is that the track expansion is tied to it! I want to be able to use the track wherever I play the game, and by making the track paid content, this makes it impossible.

I’m also pretty sure that your numbers on leagues are a bit off!

People are complaining because tying the track to a car pack fragments an already small player base up even more. What’s the point of spending all those resources scanning and adding a track if a very small percentage of players get to use it(example: Road America and Nurburg GP in Forza 3). T10 Stated they would not make that mistake again yet here we are.

For a little over £10 Project Cars offers 4 completely unique tracks and 8 cars, so at £15.99 i would argue it’s value…
My £15.99 has just been very well spent… on Rocket League.

Your math is a bit off.
Project Cars DLC with a track:

  • Stanceworks Track Expansion (1 point to point track and 4 cars) - £4.39
  • Classic Lotus Expansion (3 classic tracks and 4 cars) - £5.99
  • Aston Martin Track Expansion (a test track and 3 cars) - £4.39
Total £14.77 for 10 different ribbons (test track has 6 ribbons if memory serves me right) and 11 cars

From that list, only the classic tracks are any good, the test track and the Scottish track… meh.

Forza Porsche DLC 1 track with 5 ribbons and 21 cars for £15.99 (~£1.50 more). However, how much is to get the Porsche license vs the Audis, Lotus and Astons that PCars has?

Do you have some sort of way to prove most people race the lousy A.I. ?!?
I almost exclusively raced online in FM4, when it was fun and clean and we could easily make our own rooms and boot the wreckers. However due to the bad connections, wreckers I’ve noticed not as many online in hoppers, however leagues are in the low thousands.
I agree that the pa k is a decent value, it’s just non sense that the track seems to be useless. The online racing, when it’s clean, is the best ever compared to A.I. That’s what it used to be all about for me anyway.

Why would you release a track that can’t be used outside of one hopper and private races? You think they would have learned their lesson when they tried that in forza 3 with Road America. What was wrong with the way they did it in 5 where the track was free for everyone and they had an accompanying car pack.

Should be about an hour or so…

I think making the VIR exclusive to the Porsche Expansion to have been a poor marketing decision, especially from the perspective of the consumer. I want the new track, I don’t want Porsche; why wasn’t this simple option thought out ahead of time?

Who said it wasn’t thought out? It’s most likely they thought about it and decided, we’ll just package them both up since they only cost $20. The entire game isn’t going to be ala-cart. I don’t ever using the paint booth, but I don’t get a refund on that. I probably only used about 20% of the cars in the game, I don’t get a refund there. I don’t drag, etc, etc.

After the problems they said the Nurburgring GP DLC caused in FM4, thus the reason for free tracks in FM5 its strange they went back on what they said about DLC tracks.

I think the DLC tracks in Forza 5 were free because, well, they just weren’t ready for the game when it launched. And people weren’t going to pay for the tracks that were in the previous games…
