VIP Membership DLC and benefits

I’m a little torn on this issue with the cars.

On the upside, this means there aren’t any cars locked behind the VIP package. I’m not really one that is interested in “feeling cool” by having exclusive cars, and I’ve always hated when playing online with friends and we go “oh let’s drive the 458 Speciale” and someone in the party goes “oh I can’t join in, I don’t have it.” I also couldn’t run a Z/28 vs GT350 series in a private league as too many people didn’t have the VIP so it would have been a very very Camaro heavy field, which defeats the purpose of it.

On the downside, it means the VIP thing isn’t really worth much. Most of us don’t care much about the whole driver suits thing, and without knowing how the economy is going to be this time around we won’t really know if the double credits and such are worth it.

The fact that they have done away with locking cars that we can use for series behind a $20 DLC is good and I sort of want to show my support for that buying it… But I can’t really justify the $20 bucks for a Camaro and a few drivers suits, of which I can only use one at a time anyway.

I don’t see the point in the VIP pass any longer. There was a time in past entries into the franchise where it was worth it but now it seems like it’s just milking money from players and not offering much in return.

I feel the same in many ways. The extra CR and XP can be nice but it’s not essential for me especially considering I spend thousands of hours on the game anyway and it’s been relatively easy to earn money in Forza titles since the economy patch in FM5.

It’s a bit hit and miss whether I buy the VIP car pack. Forza 6 had a few cars I really liked in there like the McLaren F1, Veneno and 458S and FH3 had the Regera and a few others too. This year round, I’m not sure if there’s any honestly.

At least before it was subject to opinion. It didn’t matter if you liked them or not, the cars were exclusive content to the VIP DLC. I hesitate to say We instead of I, but we’ve pre-purchased FM7 Ultimate/VIP based on faith that T10 will follow their history of what…6? installments where VIP had exclusive cars. Now we find out today that the cars aren’t exclusive but are just “Forza” editions. Not disclosing until now the VIP cars would use a different system for the first time in 8 years is poor taste.

It really doesn’t bother me that the VIP cars aren’t fully exclusive in terms of model. They will be exclusive FE though. VIP has always been a nice little bonus and these cars will make things easier at the start of the game not knowing what the rewards are.

Do you lot not read it states 5 exclusive HE cars

So to me this means that those 5 HE cars are for VIP only, now it would have been nice to let us know what the bonus is for using them like 2x credits or mabey 2.5x credits, could be a pack leader perk start at the front, at the moment it is a stab in the dark what the perk is.

They have a Non FE counterparts which means the car itself is not exclusive. All previous cars from VIP memberships dating back to Forza Motorsport 3 have been exclusive and the cost of VIP was justified since it was like a mini car pack as well as the progression bonuses. MAYBE if the bonuses applied to these cars are VIP exclusive as well I can accept it a bit more since that does fit the theme of the VIP but it still wouldn’t change the fact they waited until the last minute to inform us of a change to how the VIP pack has been treated for past installments. I also can’t see them giving the cars exclusive bonuses as that would increase a lot of the pay2win complaints the VIP pack has always been subjected to.

Can’t agree with you here. Giving the cars an exclusive credit or XP bonus would not qualify as pay to win, it’s a pay for a small bonus. If the FE cars had extra horsepower or handling that would be another story. I would expect the “FE” editions of these particular cars to be VIP exclusive.

is it confirmed that the vip pass will give you the FE cars listed above (camaro gtr RAM)?

If so it would be nice that it’s a vip only perk and that you won’t be able to earn them through forzathons and such.

Yes

The perks themselves have not been announced.

[Mod Edit - thread merged. The VIP pack is mentioned in both the DLC thread and FAQ thread pinned at the top of the forum. - MM]

I’ve searched high and low. Have I missed something or is there no VIP car pack this time around?

Yeah it was announced today. It’s a fairly generic F&F pack.

That’s not the VIP pack…

That is the Day One pack not the VIP pack.

From the Forza Garage Week 6 announcement back in August… emphasis mine.

Does this only apply to one account on the xbox? I pre-ordered the Ultimate Edition last night and I know the wee fella is psyched about the options available on it. Probably be a bit disappointed if it only applied to one account.

Secondary accounts on the same console should be able to use the DLC assets (cars, but not necessarily VIP benefits) if the owner account has Xbox Live Gold status.

So I assume you are referring to the credits boost when you talk about VIP benefits, but he should have access to the Forza Edition VIP pack cars?
