Obviously, I’m not an elderly yet, though I think I will suffer from parkinson soon at this rythm: I’m playing Forza Horizon 2 and loving it so much that I spend my week-end on it. The problem is, the vibrations are so annoying and I can’t find the option to take it off.
I’m really not an elderly nor even suffer from parkinson, and I don’t want to know that soon. So if someone, somewhere, knows how to take it off, let me know, as my patience is being quite tested here, because of this annoying, there’s no other word, vibration sound, and my hands shaking - I don’t have the habit to nervous, nor stressed, which means that I never shake, but I can’t stand this; I might have to stop playing for that reason.
If you follow these guides above, once in the controller settings you can hit ‘X’ and go into the advanced settings and if you scroll down you can turn down the vibration in a 0%-100% scale
The vibration on the Xbox One controllers are insane. I drift a lot and having it on 100% feels like the rumble motors are going to rip my controller apart. I currently have it on 23% which is enough vibration to not kill your hands but still be able to feel road surfaces and such.
Now that you have the gameplay fix, it’s best that you go see a doctor about your uncontrolled shaking. Gamepad vibrations themselves are not going to cause Parkinson’s (initiated by the death of cells within the brain) or carpal tunnel (caused by compression of the median nerve at the wrist). Obviously, prolonged gameplay can cause carpal tunnel, but that can happen even with the controller’s vibrations turned off completely.
You don’t shake from carpal tunnel, you just get numb. I had surgery in both hands for it,i would wake numb from the shoulders down and the pain was bad!!
Ditto here on carpal tunnel, my fingers just went numb. Worse was (twice) breaking my left wrist playing softball and the damage it did to the thumb/wrist joint. Doesn’t make using a controller easy, since I cannot make the left thumb stick go to the right.
But, with the improvements in the controller software/setup on the Xbox One, a small amount of vibration can be managed by most people. Otherwise, it would be like using a Fanatec or Thrustmaster wheel with no Force Feedback, and not being able to “feel” the road.
