Very violent crashes on pc, and poor menu framerates.

Ok so I’ll be the first guy to admit that forza 7 is really not optimized well on pc, at least compared to forza horizon 3. I’ve been having issues where the car customization menus get so laggy overtime my game will crash in such a way that’s it’s very hard to even close the game. It will just sit and not respond or anything. Once I do get it closed my pc runs poorly for a duration after. I’ve played many games that have frequent crashes but this one crashes so bad I’m scared it might mess something up with my pc at this point. I run on dirt low settings and custom nivida settings and my pc isn’t even maxed out which is interesting. I’ve come to here for maybe some advice because it’s getting really bad and making the game so unpleasant to play it;s upsetting.

Basic pc specs:

asus strix gtx 960 4gb

i5-4690k stock speed

8gb ddr3

1tb hdd

I’m just hoping maybe someone found a remedy or maybe news of updates coming to make this not such a problem. Thanks for reading.

Are you running a public version of Windows 10 or Windows Rs3 insider build?

For me F7 was pretty smooth on high settings on build Rs3 but was full of bugs and would crash on loading screens. Rs3 seems to handle F7 fine (you could check it out).

I just reverted back to the public build of Win 10 and I’m yet to see If I can even download Forza yet alone play it.

It’s a memory leak bug in the game, the devs are already aware of this, we just need to wait for a update patch that fixes this. There is currently no workaround for this.
The memory leak happens mostly in menu’s when you start scrolling cars, carparts, rims, paints, liveries and such (you can check task manager to see the memory usage going up quickly).

Also some people report missing textures during racing, and crashes with endurance races, i think this is related to that memory leak, RAM or VRAM leaks.

I bloody well hope they’re aware. They must have known before it was released…
