Outside of UK, this car was known as Opel Ascona C.
The key premise of it was to give something fast to people of middle class and to create the hero of working class. Sure, it wasn’t as popular as Ford’s rival (the Sierra).
I’m not sure if you remember James May’s Cars of People, but in one episode was comparison between these 2 ultime British heroes of everyday motoring.
SRi was available in 3 different body styles, Sedan, Estate, and Liftback.
Best one would obviously be the Estate version.
On top of that, it was available with 3 different engines. 1.8, 2.0 (both with 114 hp), and with 128 hp 2.0
The 128 hp version was known as SRi 130. And if you ever decide to add this car, add 130 please.
