I’ve been trying to get my XB1 headset to work with my TX wheel using a second controller and I can’t get it to work. I really only need the mic, I have 5.1 headphones with a useless mic on them but sound great, that I use through the optical port on the XB1. I updated the controller with the headset connected and couldn’t find anything in settings to change. The headset has power because the mute indicator lights up. Am I missing something, like a sequence to powering everything on? Any help would be appreciated.
What I do in order, and it works every time.
Start the xbox and wait for everything to load.
Connect my headset to the xbox one controller.
Turn on the xbox one controller.
Sign into xbox live profile using the xbox one controller.
Plug in my TX wheel.
Place forza 5 disk in the disk drive.
start forza using the tx wheel.
Select profile using the tx wheel.
After all this is done and the game is loaded, private parties and public lobbies all have vocal communication coming through the headset and not the tv.
I’ll give it a try this weekend, let you know if it works. Thanks for the help.

“FORZA 5: The new update of Forza 5 (available since yesterday) solves the conflict between steering wheel & gamepad controller.
It’s now also possible to use “Xbox One Chat Headset”!
For this:
1)Plug Headset on your gamepad
2)Turn On the console with your gamepad
3)In console menu, SIGN IN to your profile with the gamepad
4)Launch the game
5)Inside the game, press “A” on your Steering Wheel
6)SIGN IN to same profile with your Steering Wheel
7)With your Steering wheel, you can now access to MULTIPLAYER and chat with the Headset even if you play with a Steering Wheel” - Thrustmaster
Yup, that works for me too. You can still use the controller to navigate menus, paint, etc., no conflicts in my experience.
