Update version 1.109.9571 (Nov. 3)

Cut on the Xbox for a quick race and there was a 4.6gb update. I doubt this will fix the hurt feelings on the board, but does anyone know the details of the patch?

4.8GB is a lot. Guess we are having a car pack soon :stuck_out_tongue:

See the Tech Support forum for update notes and announcement:

Thank you captain obvious. If they were posted there once the patch released then maybe threads like this wouldn’t exist.

That is a large part of why people are so upset/frustrated/fed up, particularly with the current title. Turn 10 don’t appear to be open and forthcoming with information on what may be happening or is happening, instead we get the odd cryptic snippet from manteomax every now and again (please understand this isn’t a personal attack at max, I do appreciate the things he does as I know he is probably not in control of what he can and can’t say on here).

It almost makes it feel like they’re just hoping that a patch might fix something that’s broken, but they don’t want to say what in case it doesn’t fix it (I’m sure it probably isn’t, but from our seats that is how it could feel to some at least). Surely they test these patches and that’s what testing is for to confirm the patch does what it should before it gets released. But as patch notes aren’t released before they go live, the least they could do is setup some kind of automatic pre made post/thread to tell people what it does once it goes live.

Just another shining example of Turn 10’s grasp of communicating effectively with its community.

I’ve put too many hours into the game now to even be able to consider a refund, not that that is the outcome I’d want as when it works it is a good game, great even. However in its current state it is so broken I’ve stopped playing it at all. Single player isn’t too bad but like a lot of the community that isn’t what I buy forza for, it is to race online with other humans. The consistent game crashing after a few races, not being able to pick your car between races sometimes, not having headlights on some night races, not having engine sound on some races, party chat/game chat issues (compounded by having to go through that repeatedly due to game crashing and having to rejoin a lobby), not being able to get back into the same lobby you were just in after a game crash (seems like the game still thinks you are in that lobby as it puts you in a previous hopper with your mates in that lobby but never tries to actually join them after that - not tried to connect and failed due to lobby being full although that is also equally annoying). All of that has just worn far too thin and has taken the sheen off a game I was really enjoying.

I understand there are a lot of issues to sort out as it seems the pc version is even buggier than the xbox one, but it would be nice to hear a little more than “we are aware of problems and are working to resolve them”

That just leaves too much unanswered, when it would probably put a lot of people’s minds at rest to hear “that you are aware of xyz problem and whilst x and y will be fixed in the patch we are working on currently, z may/will take slightly longer to resolve” as an example. Then if you are one of the many people suffering from x, y or z you’d likely be far happier to know that the problem you are experiencing is known about and won’t want to start a thread about the issue you are suffering (just like the 15 people before you). Likewise if you are someone who is suffering from something other than x, y or z you’d know that maybe turn 10 aren’t aware of the issue and that it would be useful to post a report in the tech support section.

Anyway I’m going to stop typing now as the chances of someone at Turn 10 who needs to read this actually reading this post is about as likely as President Trump being awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.

Wow, you call him Captain Obvious then say it’s not a personal attack on him. Then you try to associate a racing arcade game with the president of the United States. You need to back up and sit down for a moment.

no update here by launched the game and it says " server not working "

edit : now the update started

Would 4.8GB be along the lines of a 4K update by any chance?

Car packs are usually around 500MB or so.

Alternatively it could be some uncompressed video files or updates to circuits. Circuits usually take up a lot of space (the map for Forza Horizon 3 is over 20GB).

i dont have the 4k download option enabled so i dont think it is with a 4k thing , 4,8 gb bytheway

I’ve asked on Twitter so will wait and see if I get a reply. Hopefully it’s some sort of patch for the various stability / lagging issues the game has in multiplayer? Guess we will find out soon enough

No update here. Just restarted my console. Let’s see.

You suppose they sneaked in a few audio and visual fixes? Eeekh… !

Edit: weird… there were no updates in “my games & apps”… Launched the game and it said ‘forza 7 needs to update’.

I showed an update also but it’s 32.62GB. Any idea what that’s all about? Waiting for it to finish. Internet is slow today…

28gb are the 4k assets for the one x

yep, i guess the assets download automatically for those who have pre-ordered the One-X.

Limited number of cars you can sell in the Auction House.
