The fact that you have to disable your Antivirus just to play the game is utterly unacceptable.
There is no way I will disable a security feature on my PC just to get this game to run.
It is up to Playground games to FIX this and make the game work even with Antivirus.
I have no idea what you have done with your game that would cause this, but you’re also the first game I have ever encountered that does cause this, so it’s not my antivirus, it’s not my computer, it’s not me. It’s you and your game.
I disabled all too but realised that the only thing I need to do is run game in admin mode, otherwise it crashes. After that I’ve been running AV and normal background apps and can play the entire day without a crash.
WHilst Forza games do seem to have problems with 3rd party anti-virus programs more than other programs, they are not the only game to have this issue (you only need to check the Microsoft forum to find that). And it is on the Anti-virus developer to adjust their program…how are Playground supposed to code their game without knowing how it is tripping the 3rd party program? Even if they did have access to the code for every single anti-virus program out there (hundreds of them), how are they to code the game to encompass every single one? That would result in more issues.
My advice would be uninstall the 3rd party program and just use WIndows Defender…it’s as capable as any others and less likely to have issues. I’ve personally used it for a decade now and haven’t had a single issue that wasn’t my own fault. Of course, if you are using Defender, then that’s a different matter
I have Kaspersky and inbuilt Windows Defender - no problems.
Used to have Avira, but that thing had problems with itself and everything.
Not sure how it is now, but a while back I had AVG and Norton - useless waste of space and resources.
Bringing back memories now! I remember using AVG and Avast years ago (mid 2000s) but could never get on with them. As to Norton, well, I used it back in the very early 2000s and it was the most useless thing I’d encountered in my life…by all accounts, it is a lot better these days but I would still rather have zero anti-virus protection that let it on my system!
Am surprised you haven’t had issues with using both Defender and Kaspersky…usually 2 AV programs will cancel each other out or create serious issues…you have been lucky!
I used to give advice on a Custom PC Builder’s website and offer advice on the Microsoft forum…I couldn’t even count the number of times I have given advice to people with issues where the fault turned out to be the 3rd party anti-virus program…probably hundreds of times. My advice would always be just use Defender
Sorry I should say, those are used on two PCs.
Never had 2 AVs running one one - had enough cases, while I was still working with them for living, that more then one is asking for problems.
