UI - My Cars filter is locked to Class after exiting Open Class Tour Series (1751550)

Bug Info: Menu
Platform: Series X
Edition: Game Pass
Account: Solo account
Xbox Settings: No Parental Controls, No Quick Resume
Attempted fixes: (Have a Support ticket? rebooted, reinstalled, set settings to default, rolled back drivers, etc)
Content Update: Unsure if this happened prior to the most recent content update.

  1. From the Main Menu, select Race > Career > Open Class Tour > any Class Series.
  2. Back out to the Main Menu.
  3. From the Main Menu, select Cars > My Cars.
  4. Only owned cars from the previous selected Class Series are shown. No other car classes are available if they are owned.

This is new after update 10.0. It’s happened to me twice, after doing the exact same thing:

  1. Select a car for Career, Open Class series (B or A).
  2. Go to the race.
  3. Leave the race before Practice or Race.
  4. Exit to Main menu.

When I completed an Open class race, the issue no longer existed. I could once again see all my cars in any class in My cars.

After a class specific race i return to the main menu goto ‘cars’ then ‘my cars’ and the filter is locked to the previous race’s class therefore only letting me see 1 class worth of my garage. A restart fixes this but not ideal.

This happens quite often after doing the class specific monthly races. Only fix ive found is closing game and restarting. Been a problem since launch so i wouldnt expect a fix any time soon.

This hasn’t happened to me at all since launch. Only after updoot 10

I dont know if it would happen every time for me but when i noticed it it was always after exiting an open class championship midway through and exiting to menu. If i were to look at my cars it would be locked into that class

Interesting how it never happened to me pre 10.

I definitely would have noticed because i always use one car each month through the open SP career event so ive been doing that process every month since December.

Here’s step to reproduce the issue:

  1. Start game.
  2. Go to Career. Select any series (at least Featured Tour or Open Tour) so that you see the car selection screen.
  3. Go back to main menu.
  4. Go to Cars/My Cars.

At that point, I can only see some of my cars, which isn’t even the subset of cars eligible to the series I’ve selected. Going back to a different career series changes which subset of cars is shown.

I have to restart the game fully to be able to see the full list of my cars again.

This is happening since Update 9.

Edit: noted after Update 10 (though likely this was the case before as well), trying to go into Free Play in that state, the full list of cars appears in the selection screen, however the game thinks the restriction of the career series are still applying.

For instance, after selecting the S-class open series then backing out, the My Cars menu only shows S-class cars, but the Free Play selection menu shows all cars. However, selecting a non S-class car shows an error message that the car needs to be upgraded/downgraded (or that it can’t be upgraded/downgraded) and you can’t continue.

This is at a stage where, by design players are to select any car of their choice without restriction.

Not fixed in Update 10. But noted an extra flavour to this issue, added to the main post.

Have the exact same problem way before update 10 (Xbox Series X)

Cars are removed from My Cars showroom. All but 8 of my cars were removed. Some are still displayed in selected garage spots but are still missing from My Cars garage. I can access them in free race but not in My Cars tab.

Hi, report all bugs at the troubleshooting hub @MustangRacer89.

I’ve encountered this bug twice since installing Update 8.

First time was after completing the Reward Showcase at the end of the previous Open Tour in Career Mode. There was only 1 car on My Cars screen (the one received as a reward: Brabham BT8) but none were missing when choosing a car in Free Play.

Second time was today, after completing the third race of the Unlimited Racers in Retro Racer Tour. This time 24 cars were available on My Cars screen (only race cars) and, again, none were missing in Free Play.

In both cases launching any race in Free Play and returning to the main menu solved the issue - all 150+ cars were restored after that.

Platform: PC/Steam.

The same exact thing is happened to me currently what do I do to fix it?

I have had luck restarting the game to fix the issue. Make sure to completely back out of the game. Hope this helps.

I also have this issue recently. The only way I’ve been able to reset it is to activate “featured multiplayer”, and then return to the main menu. Then my full car garage was available again.

Series X, gamepass version.

Not fixed in Update 11
Mind you, this happens for any career series as far as I’ve tested, not just the Open Tour (though in that case it will be locked to the series’ selection of cars instead of the whole class)
