Turn off Audio completely

Is there any way in the game to turn off all audio? I want to hear nothing from Forza - I have all the sound settings on MIN but you still hear the engine sound, which doesn’t have a control, and all the other sounds.

I’d like to be able to completely turn off the sounds so I can play single player on my PC and listen to something else - like a lecture. Or so I can pretend to be interested in the conference call but really I have the controller under the desk and Forza on the second monitor. Or perhaps I just want to sit in silence and while I play.

Right click on your Windows volume control, go to “open volume mixer”, then click the speaker icon for Forza to mute it.

Awesome. Thank you.

Man, I don’t get this… what fun is a driving game without SOUND?!

Maybe he’s playing at his desk while in the office at work! LOL

Yeah, he hinted at that… but still! You get the idea! No sound, no adrenaline rush.

I’m playing at home. Sometimes it’s to not upset the wife. Sometimes it’s so I can listen to a boring lecture or something I have to listen to and don’t want the game volume in the mix. I do well listening to the material but don’t want to be bored watching a dull talking head for 45 minutes.

In any case, this doesn’t work. When I open the volume mixer there is no separate adjustment for Xbox, Store, or Forza 7.

Well, for one thing, you don’t have an upset wife. (lol)
I solved this issue by purchasing headphones.

I do love the sounds of the game, but do have as much of the music turned off as possible, though.

Sorry, I guess they changed it in Windows 10. Individual apps don’t seem to show up in the volume mixer.

You can use an application called EarTrumpet that lets you control individual app volume.

That’s not necessarily true. Google Chrome, VLC Media player, Windows Media Player – they all show up with their own icon and own control. No games from the Xbox Store, including FM7, do.

This is a little sad. It’s 2017, how hard would it be to include an “AUDIO: On/Off” option in the Audio menu. All I want to do is turn all of the sound off, completely, shhhhhhh…

I will give it a try. Thank you.

EDIT: Thank you, KTVDS, works like a charm. I can now keep the Audio settings set for the Xbox and use EarTrumpet to turn the slider down. Even better than audio off because I can set it just low enough to hear but not loud enough to overpower the other sounds.

A new Windows 10 update came out today that lets you mute individual apps, including games like Forza 7.
