Turn 10 said no more unicorns

You should know by now not to take anything they say regarding content at face value. You know, like cars being recreated from the ground up while porting over the same incorrect models from previous iterations of the game. As has been stated previously, keep your expectations and standards low, that way you won’t be disappointed.

A unicorn buy any other name is still a unicorn.

Unicorn cars should not go the way of participation trophies.

2 things… firstly they’re giving the car to 100 other players who set a time but dont beat the goal time. Second, it does say it’s the “ONLY way you can get the Aston Martin in February”… so that would suggest there will be other ways to get the car in the future.

I would take that wording with a grain of salt at this point. Remember what happened when they said that something “Special” was coming?

They also never said that it was only available for a short amount of time. And why is it different for the Ferrari and the Aston? Why leave the Silvia out?

I don’t actually care either way if there’s Unicorn cars or not. None of them are of interest to me thus far.

The unicorn cars are something that Turn 10 decided to do again after being absent from FM5 and FH2 to encourage the community to play FM6 and to check out vehicles and features that may not have tried yet. The 1971 Ferrari 312 P was easy to get in as long as you finished anywhere in the top 50% of the Can-Am league in their division which was ran 3 times last month and that required just running x amount of races until you got enough points to where you can just kick back and wait for the league to end.

The 1977 Aston Martin V8 Vantage is part of the Chasing Ghosts at Brands Hatch Rivals event that is ongoing through the end of this month where the car will be handed out to all who can beat RWB TRITON’s best time. His lap time will be locked in place at 3PM EST(Noon PST) on February 26 so keep working on your lap time. 100 people who didn’t beat RWB TRITON’s best lap time will be awarded that car at random.

The unicorn cars are handed out via an in-game message and once you get one, select it to add the car to your garage. It can take a few days for Turn 10 to send you the gift message as I’m still waiting for them to hand me the 1971 Ferrari 312 P gift message for placing 64th out of 1416 drivers(top 5%) in my division in the final Can-Am league from last week.

Good luck to all going for the 1977 Aston Martin V8 Vantage!

Yep. That means those guy who want to be the first rival you face (if your friendless or the first friend to attempt) when you try it for the first time. So you could go set a time of 1 hour and 30 some minutes (I’ve seen times of up to 6 hours on some rival events) and still have shot because you set a time. Instead of this nonsense, they should give the car to 100 random who are slower than RWB TRITON, but are faster than a(n) drivatar/AI in a stock Rolls Royce Wraith on the lowest setting.

Not sure what you are trying say here but anyone that beats RBW tritons final time will get the car as well as 100 random others who didnt beat his time but did try

I love this idea, similar to how the unicorn cars were done in Forza 4, I’d love i if this becomes a montly thing!

One thing I’ve learned is that Turn 10’s word means about as much as a crooked politician’s.

I don’t like this new event. I have a knee injury and can’t use my wheel now so I have to play with the controller and I’m horrible with it. At least with the 312 P I could just race more hours and eventually end up in the top 50% but I sure won’t be able to set a competitive time. :frowning:

This “disability” you spoke about on the other thread is a knee injury so you have to use a controller…DUDE! Sorry, I’ve raced with a vet who uses modified controllers to play. He’s even cleaner than most drivers you’ll meet.

I’ve got no sympathy for you.

I must have missed something. Did they ever officially acknowledge the existence of the Silvia?

Don’t worry my fellow Forza racer’s have all the unicorns from previous forza’s. I just think that you should get a chance to obtain even if your a year late to the game.

But they’re free and easy to achieve and all opportunities have lasted long enough for everyone to take part

If it requires a gold sub it isn’t free. Just saying.

Nice to see this one is Rivals though so truly anyone can take part, even those of us with inconsistent internet connections.

The issue here is that today you’re right, is not hard to get these cars given the challenge and given that there is a month to do it.

But how about in 6 months, how about next year when Horizon 3 is the priority? What happens if you only got around to buy a XB1 after Forza 6 life span? I tell you what, then these cars become impossible to get since they’re only available out of turn 10’s hands, unless they make a car pack of them, but apparently the community doesn’t like that because it would ruin circlejerking of having a “speshul” car.

So i wouldn’t say that “all” have the opportunity to get this car, more like the people who were present in February 2016 had the chance to get this car.

I’m just rambling, but I’m upset that unicorn cars are back. I only bought an X360 in '14 and I couldn’t get a hang of Horizon’s unicorn cars, not because I was lazy to try but simply because I didn’t had the chance to at all, and I really didn’t had fun being left out of it. Now I got the chance to get the car and is refreshing to be able to have them, but none the less the idea is flawed.
