Tune Voodoo's Car for the inaugural Forza Invitational

Impatiently awaiting feedback. I have to admit that I stopped working on the power builds once I drove Raceboy’s, it just didn’t seem like I was going to come up with anything better.

VooDoo I was tuned the way I like my cars with just enough understeer that you need 95% or more throttle to send it into oversteer and it has just a smidgen more top end without the front wing. By the end of the second lap the tires should be up to temp and it should be obvious if that style is going to work for you or not.

.VooDoo II is setup more neutral (a little too much for me) and exactly like POISON so don’t even waist you time on POISON if it doesn’t work for you. I’ve found a few diff tweeks that help turn entry but it’s not worth reloading the tune unless it is something that you think will work.

Currently my pick is PRKid’s “grip” tune, #3 on the power-grip scale. It is a completely different approach to achieving the same specs as VooDoo II but is rock solid consistent and I can run clean laps within 0.5 seconds of my LB time all day long. Make sure you give FOOT’s more than just a few laps, It took me a while to readjust my braking points and learn to trust that you really don’t need to slow down after driving the ~700hp tunes.

EDIT - scratch VooDoo II and replace it with VooDoo IIb. I found a little more than just diff that made it a little easier for me to drive.

Awesome man! Keep at it, it’s really hard to get all you can out of those power cars but when you hit it, it’s wonderful. The best split I saw was 2.02.8xx with no assists halfway through the lap and I messed it up :(.

Nice job VoodooUomo! I have a set of tunes (Power down to grip). I am getting a lot of good feedback on my VoodooTune grip/Grip2 tunes – slight preference for Grip2. And, a couple of mid-power tunes. Good luck!

Posted a tune. I was able to get a 2:09:3 during test laps, which is great for me. It’s probably quicker for others - my diving ability holds me back.

Sorry guys, I really don’t get as much time as I like to practice.
I tried RelaxedPRKid’s power tune with 724(I think?) hp. I couldn’t really get it to turn in the way I’d like to, and for some reason I was burning the inside rear wheel out of every corner. TCS would have helped here, but I’m driving without.

I also tried Foot’s grip tune and it’s a dream to drive! Definitely spoils you. Unfortunately, even though I can run 2.07s all day in it, I couldn’t get down to the 2.05s I’m shooting for at the moment.

I went back to Raceboy’s tune and after some adjustment I got down to the 2.05.8xx that I have now and no TCS. I do see how to get a low 2.05 or even a high 2.04 if I put it all together, but there is still a second that I have no clue how to get. I think I know where I’m losing the time, but not clear on how to get it back. Maybe I’ll turn ghosts on and chase one of you to show me the ropes.

Rommerto and crash220, I’m really sorry. Your tunes are next on my list to try. I only have one more day to practice before I head out of town for the rest of the week so I will be focusing on the power tunes as those have the most potential on Sebring it seems.

Oh, and I’m going to talk to Fred to see about forcing TCS off for the race. It should add to the excitement

Definitely didn’t get the best time I could, but not bad considering most of my time was spent in lower class cars. I have to give Raceboy my vote for the invitational since it was his tune that helped me be competitive, although my official time was recorded from DTM Lionel’s tune. I was over a full second faster with Raceboy’s tune, but couldn’t get a complete lap. I also love the idea of forcing TCS off during these events. I would love to see the assist laps get treated as the dirty laps in Forza 6, meaning any clean lap is better than a dirty lap, but also any non-assist lap is better than any assist lap. Something to consider while you guys are working hard away on that project. Good job Voodoo, you were fast through the middle portions of the track. If you guys need any spots I would love to race against some of the best the game has to offer.

Should have read the Week in Review first. Congrats Raceboy! At least the Forza 6 suggestion is still relevant

So does anyone know how many more will be invited or are the people mentioned in the week in review the only ones.

The people mentioned received invites before the event was announced in my experience. The qualifier was to fill the rest of the spots. I’m not sure who got invited from the qualifier, I’d assume the top 10 then so on and so fourth.

P.S. Shoutout to Snack for the vote of confidence and kind words
