Trying to use a USB Handmade Handbrake

Hi all. I have a “Handmade Handbrake” which uses a “PCB from a spare USB Keyboard”, so basicaly the handbrake presses a keyboard button. The problem with it in FH4 is that the handbrake just “partialy” works. Because you can´t input a keyboard command (Handmade Handbrake) in the wheel settings tab, so when you use it in the game the game recognize a keyboard input and lock the wheels straight (because te game understands that I have changed my inputs to a keyboard and I am not using the wheel anymore). Using a button on the wheel the handbrake action is normal, the wheels in the game continue to turn at the same direction which was pointed. My question is, could I manage to get this working? PS.: I am using a Logitech G29 and my handbrake was built watching this video (MAKE THIS EASY USB HANDBRAKE | SIM RACING | DIY | E-BRAKE - YouTube). I have also tested what @CodenameJack447 shared in this post (https://forums.forza.net/turn10_postst137000_FH4--Temporary-fix-about-multiple-USB-devices-not-binding---Axis-dead-zones-fix---Emuwheel-FFB-fix.aspx), but no success.

The PCB from a keyboard isn’t the best solution because sure your ‘handbrake’ is detected as keyboard inside the Windows device manager.

If you want it plug&play you should change to a PCB from a cheap USB gamepad. This is detected as ‘game controller’ and multi-usb should work with your G29.

If you want to keep it or at least test it you just need an additional software to fake your ‘keyboard’ into a ‘game controller’. You can also tweak around inside the Win registry.

But I think ‘xoutput’ or similar software should do the job for standard games.

All Forza games are ‘UWP’. Maybe you need to tweak around.

Good luck.

Thank you, Noobertson. I will try to search for a software and check if any of my friends have a spare gamepad.

P.S.: If anyone have another solution, please feel free to post it.

Did you find a fix?

Same problem here,any fix?

You could try an adaptive controller and use the usb handbrake as a switch on that. Then it will work.

I’m having the same problem i cant get my homemade USB shifter to work in fh4 unless i turn my wheel 900 degrees left or right anyone know a solution?
