Track Cutters

Is it even worth reporting track cutters? It seems kind of silly to take any race seriously when mental midgets are regularly lopping off 300-400 feet of track (A-Class Ghost League at Le Mans Bugatti). I can understand cutting corners as close as possible and getting a dirty lap every now and then, but any online racing has become nothing more than who can find the biggest shortcut.

I have a saved replay of one of the most blatant track cutters I’ve ever seen, and he’s rewarded with points for finishing 2nd?

Is this wishful thinking, and should I just accept online racing as nothing more than an Exploit Contest?

Yeah I’ve noticed a lot of people track cutting and I I only got the game the other day, but the thing is that the game doesn’t slow you down once you hit the grass or sand like they used to in previous forzas. The people that designed forza need to bring that back because nothing than seeing someone trying to cut the corner and seeing them slow down to 5mph haha!!

Just hope people don’t find the bloody massive shortcut my dad (inexperienced haha) found yesterday on the brickyard race, he found an opening on grass and passed three corners whilst maintaining speed, bloody stupid haha!

So to answer your question reporting them ain’t gonna do nothing if forza doesn’t do anything about it

The frustration continues for all clean racers, as mentioned before track cutting by some players it’s obviously fragrant, i do not think other than reporting it to the proper people that anybody can do much.
The game for the most part it’s good and enjoyable, unfortunately it’s that 1% of players that just makes it a headache.

I guess my question is “Does Turn10 consider track cutting unsportsmanlike or cheating?” They obviously not only allow it, but they reward it by granting points to consistent track cutters in ever league or online hopper they offer.

I could report a few people, but what’s the point if their attitude is that it’s not cheating?

I’m honestly spending more time honing my skills in Project Cars. I don’t want to jump into a real, live, full-contact league until I know I can control a car, be competitive and not make a jack-a** out of myself.

Almost like what you’d do in real life, right? If you drive like people do online you’d get killed, punched or arrested.

I’d say it’s way more than 1%. I just did an A-class ghost league race at Yas Marina and everyone was cutting the popular corners…

The walls in the corners are just a stupid and lazy idea…

The technology is there to mark a lap as dirty, I don’t see any reason they couldn’t use the penalty system from Pcars.

First “4-off” - Warning
Second “4-off” - 5 second penalty
Third “4-off” - 10 second penaly
Enough penalties equal DQ!

I agree. It’s easily 40-50%. Realistically it’s probably less, but there’s only so many clean laps the honest players are going to follow if even the sloppiest knuckle-dragging Millennial is gaining 3-4 seconds a lap on them by simply ignoring the track.

Forza simply I s not a racing simulator. It is a game, and a context of skill that vaguely resembles what most people recognize as racing.

I’ll still play, no doubt. I’ll race clean, respect the track and bite my tongue as every cheating scum sails past me on those notorious corners and I’ll drift to Project Cars more and more until I feel confident I can compete there.

Sebring is another, I try my hardest at clean laps, I finish 3rd in A700 ghost league in a civic 97!FWD look at results to see lap times, I’m quickest by a whole second, yet I’m 3rd, score less points and move slowly up the lb yet idiots that take straight lines thru the series of turns do not get penalties, er…something wrong there!!

Even though I hated it when someone bumped me off track. Forza needs to bring back the instant super glue for spots where people cut corners. Turn 16 at Sebring is a big cut through for a lot of people

Appearing in an online lobby near you, sanctioned, encouraged and rewarded by Turn 10 - King of the Track Cutters.

I have seen the same move over and over again and again, the worst thing is that they get reward with a podium and credits for this…absolutely absurd!

Another taken from a class league although it did backfire in the end

One of the worst Cutters I have seen <–Clicky

Lol! They take the Mick! I just go for clean lap times mostly in league play now. No point even trying to win the race unless you can master every track cutting manoeuvre in Forza.!

Sebring, Bugatti, Yas Marina, and a few others are pretty bad. I just uploaded a video from Japanese Street King league on Sebring that shows a player intentionally cutting corners. He was 4 seconds faster than my clean lap. I still placed 3rd.

I don’t like the idea of “sticky grass, dirt, etc” because if you get bumped off, then you are the one that get’s penalized. The PCars system works great. Warnings, then doubling timed penalties until the player is finally DQ. The plus side to the warning is that you aren’t penalized for a someone bumping you off or an avoidance of a wreck. The downside is someone can hold it in their back pocket until the final lap. Of course, they could write a rule that all final lap cuts are penalized without a warning…

its going to eventually come to the point where all the tracks will be lined with tire walls so people don’t cut. It is annoying that you cant have a clean, far race in Forza unless you do a league. I have gotten into iracing in a big way the past few months and guess what? There is no sticky grass, no random tire walls and no invisible walls to keep you from cutting corners. If you so much as drop a wheel of the track or even over shoot a corner you get a 1x. If you spin the car you get a 2x and if you hit another car you get a 4x. if you get 17x in a race you ar DQ’ed. there are also corners like in watkins glens bus stop where if you cut it to much you will get a slow down penalty. im not positive but if you ignore the slow down penalty you end up getting DQ’ed. A system like this would be nice in Forza but i dont think it would work. 1, the races are WAY to short. my normal iracing race is 20 mins or 10-20 laps depending the car and track. the other problem is there is probable an exploit or work around in there some where but everyone in iracing is there for fun, competitive racing. not just who can win at any cost

I can actually remember the days when a Forza administrator or someone from Turn 10 would appear on a thread like this and say we are working on a solution to this common problem!
Not these days.
Money grabbing like most!

The more I play the more I realize this isn’t a racing simulation, or a racing game.

It’s a Petri dish for self-indulgent, cheating, teenage hacker wanna-be’s. It’s not not a small percentage of track cutters and demolition derby morons - it’s the majority. Too many people today think and feel it’s not about improving your times or competing fairly - it’s about mounting another imaginary trophy for their mind cave.

And they all play as if it’s acceptable. And unfortunately, in a warped and twisted way it IS acceptable because it’s what Turn 10 allows. Once Turn10 collects it’s cash it’s hands off until the next tease.

If there’s no-one to enforce or establish the rules, it’s just a lawless jungle out there, where everything is acceptable, everything is fair and you get a lobby full of frustrated people. The cheaters can’t grasp the concept that they can’t win EVERY race, and the players who have seen a real race and play fairly are upset that this goes unpunished and un-enforced race after race after race.

Wow I have no idea what I even said but I doubt it was that controversial glad to see mods can still go around and fire bomb people’s comments without any justification as to why they did it
