I know this has probably been asked many times before, but, are you at Turn 10 ever going to penalise corner cutting. I’m sick of losing places in races on this game because cheating is so easy. Don’t ask “Why don’t I follow suit?” Basically I’m not sinking to their level. They fixed it on GT with speed penalties, why can’t you go something similar. It feels this game rewards cheating.
Penalties for corner cutting will be a great addition, but after they added in their latest E-sport crap ( more to help with their future championship streams than for us gamers, I’m guessing) the spectate button disappears, which now forces me to race tracks I hate or leave the lobby rather than simply hitting “spectate”, so I’m not to keen on more Forza additions because it will more likely than not mess up other parts of the game.
Best thing is to just spin them out when you catch up,
Retaliation fosters this sort of bad behavior in online gaming imo. The revenge guys are almost just as bad as the initiators because they engage the domino effect.
Sometimes the corner cutters screw up and it’s satisfying to beat those players, but as far as lap times, you lose seconds having to move off the line to avoid them carelessly dropping back onto the track. No way around that.
Well that all depends on how the race goes, if they cut corners and I can still easily pass them, then I will do so but if their constant corner cutting effects myself or others then I will remove that issue. I have done this only a few times and have seen it done a few times more…never have I seen the “domino effect” you are talking about, it has actually improved the racing. When the corner cutters mess up all other clean drivers around have to suffer for it, which is a domino effect of it’s own., forcing others to slow for the car in front all because someone got squirrely trying to cheat.
Sometime you’ve got to fight fire with fire. Ive had enough. I say put the wreckers and cheaters off the track every opportunity that you get. The moral high ground means nothing here.
Same, if someone is intentionally wrecking then I hit back. The day I get banned for defending myself is the day I start using the FM disk as a beer coaster.
Cool, but you understand you cannot have it both ways. You are condoning the fire.
Those crashers and corner cutters, many of them were retaliators at one point too. Then they decided, “enough is enough” I will become a crasher too! Then there’s someone making a thread to complain about their crashing or corner cutting. Do you see how the cycle works (or domino effect, slippery slope, how ever you want to label it),
IMO the more clean drivers that refuse to engage in this behavior, the better the game would be. The more drivers that give in and decide to drive dirty, well, the worse the game is. Monkey see Monkey do.
There will be ZERO improvement in any players’ behavior, unless Turn10 decide to introduce penalties. It’s as simple as that.
I would also love to have driving licenses required for multiplayer: if you’re not skilled enough to brake in time and take a corner properly, you can’t join a specific lobby. That would separate crashers/noobs from skilled drivers who want to drive in peace.
Please don’t tell me about leagues, player created lobbies etc… I am talking specifically about public lobbies.
If the game were to use a form of licensing based around how cleanly you race, the problem would disappear over night. Wreckers and corner cutters would race only with others who play the same way, and skilled (cleaner is quicker) racers would be surrounded by other players of similar ability. Accidents would still happen, but it wouldn’t be due to the current situation, which sees a widely disparate skill set and mindset in a single room, leading to the inevitable comedy of errors we get in too many sessions.
I REFUSE TO CONDONE OR BE INVOLVED IN THAT KIND OF BEHAVIOR. I am a clean driver, I will remain a clean driver. I refuse to retaliate. It’s like the last piece of scrap meat on the table, if you want it that bad you can have it. In my mind, I know how you got it.
Sebring is my favorite track for messing with the cutters. A little tap up the back streight puts them in the grass after 2 laps of that they dont cut lap 3
I normally party up with a group. Most of the time we will invite then into the group and kinda make them accountable. Sometimes this works. If that doesn’t, then the group will make it very hard for them to finish.
A solo player taking out a cutter normally end others getting wrecked.
It’s really bad in the track toys ghost league this week, Elite. I think I’m the only one not cutting sometimes. When at least 3/4 of the lobby are cutting what can you do? It’s not even worth playing for me anymore if I have to contend with these clowns. I don’t think they understand the concept of a track and that you are supposed to stay on it. One tried to cut Sebring to catch up with me and crashed. I laughed. Other than that it has been miserable. These people should never have been promoted in the first place if they cannot adhere to track limits.
All I recommend is get faster at tracks like YAS and try to beat them clean. If that’s doesnt work, put a nice clean lap down, then cut the rest of the race. Atleast it’s a even and fair races.
