It is on their Twitter.
Here is the clue:
I delivered my team’s first manufacturer title.
An icon across Desert, Forest and Mountain.
We’re a rare breed, 500 strong!
Cheap, stripped out and fun; but only in white.
As bright as a neutron star.
Horsepower of heavenly stock.
Although, I think the 500 clue refers to the Ford puma. It only had 500 of it’s kind.
Heavenly stock horsepower could be the DS23…which would be interesting. I don’t see two celicas showing up in one update but you never know. I think the Nissan Dakar truck or the Subaru crosstrek buggie might be an option for Desert, Forest and Mountain.
Either way, I hope this means 6 cars again…even though I’m having a harder and harder time making some garage space.
It is possible that the DS could also be the Desert, Forest and Mountain clue since it won rallys in all of those; however, as several people have pointed out those are the three stages of Sega Rally Championship, which featured a Celica ST205.
“Horsepower of heavenly stock”
Perhaps a bit farfetched, but could it be the Dodge Supercharger? My guess why is because of the Hellephant engine (hence the “Heavenly”) and it churns out 1000bhp?
I can only Guess two of these I am afraid, they are Pretty Cryptic Again!
The Two I can Guess are.
“An Icon of Desert, Forest and Mountain” that one is very Easy, Those are the Names of the 3 Main Stages in the Original Sega Rally, so that is the 1995 Toyota Celica ST205 GT Four
“As Bright as a Neutron Star” again, also pretty Easy, a Neutron Star is also called a PULSAR, so that is the 1995 Nissan Pulsar GTI-R N-Spec.
As for the Others I have not got the foggiest I am afraid Torben has been too Cryptic again!
Cheap, stripped out and fun; but only in white clue. is definitely the Peugeot 205 Rallye because it was only available in white when it first came out in 1991 and it’s in the leaked car list.
Same with the Nissan Pulsar GTI-R because is has a rotating neutron star chassis code E-RNN14
I delivered my team’s first manufacturer title. : Toyota Celica GT-Four ST185
An icon across Desert, Forest and Mountain. : Toyota Celica GT-Four ST205
We’re a rare breed, 500 strong! : Ford Racing Puma or Saab 9-3 Turbo X (Only 500 sold in the UK market)
Cheap, stripped out and fun; but only in white. : Peugeot 205 Rallye
As bright as a neutron star. : Nissan Pulsar GTI-R
Horsepower of heavenly stock. : Citroen DS23?
Oooh, I hope we are right on these Guesses, the “Rally” Theme strongly Appeals, (Even the DS23 has a Rally Link, as the Commission that Ran the 1966 Monte Carlo Rally, in order to ensure a French Car Won, “Banned” any car that didn’t have Swivelling Headlamps, meaning only the DS19 was Eligible!) as I do love a bit of Rally, and I, actually, like every Single Car People have Guessed Yes, I know, Miracles will never Cease, the Interminably Grouchy King Cobra is Happy with the Guesses for Once.
So, if the Guesses are Right we have:
A Rallying Legend (ST185)
One of the Heroes of One of THE Greatest Arcade (and I mean Proper Seaside Amusement Arcade) Car Racing Games ever Programmed, Sega Rally ! (ST205)
Two all too Forgotten Hot Hatch Icons that really need an Awful lot more Recognition (Nissan Pulsar GTi-R and Ford Racing Puma)
One of the Finest Hot Hatchbacks ever to Hit the Road, especially in terms of just being a Sheer Celebration of the “Thrill of Driving” (205 Rallye)
and One of the Most Beautiful Cars ever Made, (DS23)
So, if all these Guesses are Right, This is going to be one of the best Seasons in Terms of the Actual Car Choices we have had Yet IMO!
I would love to see the DS, but “horsepower of heavenly stock” might also be the Aston Martin Valkyrie (or maybe even the Valhalla).
If the “Desert, Forest, Mountain” clue is indeed the Celica (which sounds very likely), the “manufacturer’s title” clue is not very likely to be a second, very similar Celica…could also be a Citroen Xsara, a VW Polo, or a Hyundai i20.
You underestimate PG and their DLC habits. But if you are right, it would have to be one of those four cars, since they are the only rally cars we don’t have that brought the first manufacturer’s title for their respective makes.
Another batch of clues, another clue I don’t get the reference for. Why is everyone saying the DS23 for the heavenly horsepower clue? I know the praise for its hydropneumatic suspension that could be described as heavenly, but that car was never known for anything related to horsepower. IIRC it had around 140.
Also, I sure hope the Racing Puma and 205 Rallye guesses are true. Those are just the kinds of cars this game needs.
