Hi folks,
I’m back on Forza 5 because I’m kinda not really feeling FH2. I got to the third Finale, discovered all the roads, got most of the bonus boards and half of the three bucket lists done, but I’m kinda missing the ‘clean’ racing (offline) and “just great driving” approach of the regular Forza games. I feel that I need to convince myself just a little too much to really like FH2, although there’s actually nothing wrong with it and most people have loads of fun with it and actually prefer it to FM5.
Be that as it may, I kinda missed FM5 a little over the last few months and so I got back to it. Today I checked my progress in the career mode and noticed that - especially since we have those three additional tracks - I’m not really done with everything yet. I got all the championships done, but now there’s the optional tracks to get gold on.
Those of you who completed the game (as in: all races done, all gold) - what happens? Is there an achievement? I actually thought I’d get one after completing all the different career paths, but nay, nothing happened. Since I’m yearning for more FM5 anyway, I’m gonna try to complete everything 100% now (and do some rivaling, of course) .
How do you guys keep yourself busy in FM5? And do you still play it?
The more I play FM5 the more I feel excited for FM6…
Cheers!
Ekko
There is an acheivement for completing all 40 championships but it’s only worth 25 gamerscore. It’s the Championship Legend achievement. As far as completing gold on the DLC tracks I don’t remember getting anything for that specifically.
I keep myself busy in FM5 by playing online multiplayer, it’s my favorite thing to do. If it wasn’t for achievements I wouldn’t even bother with career mode because it’s boring IMO to race against the A.I., I prefer competing with real people. I’ve actually continued to play FM5 most days even since Horizon 2 came out since they are two different types of games. For me Horizon is more of a filler to play when I need a break from track racing but I try to play both games everyday. Overall I prefer Motorsport over Horizon because the car physics in Motorsport are better than Horizon and people online generally race cleaner.

Strange, I didn’t get that achievement, although I completed all the championships. I thought something was missing.
How is online racing in FM5 nowadays? Is there finally a collision off -mode of sorts? I had rather mediocre experiences with online play. The usual hating, crashing and quitting. I read that these days there’s more serious folks racing, less kiddies (no offense to kiddies).
I also prefer the cleaner track layout and pure race-track design in FM to the wilder FH design. FH seems to be more of an atmospheric driving game (as in, just general driving), whereas FM is a stricter racing game, which I do prefer.
Upon further thought you may need to finish all the DLC tracks within those championships to get the achievement to pop. If I remember correctly I got mine to pop at about 97% completion (weird I know) but it was the same way for others as well.
Online racing in FM5 is mostly good, there don’t seem to be the abundance of crashers anymore. They do have a few no collision public lobbies available currently.
What I did in FM5, both before and especially after winning all championship races including all bonus races, was create my own races in free play. There I can run longer races, like ten laps of the full 24-hour Nurburgring, and races on layouts that either rarely or never show up in the championship races. It’s just a shame that we can’t get more specific with race setup like we can in multiplayer. For example, you can’t run a fifty-lap F1 race at Spa because you can only narrow it to X-class and Drivatars only pick Indy cars, which stand no chance vanish from sight within half a lap.
On your xbox, go to achievements and select Forza 5. Scroll to the far right and see what achievements you haven’t completed. Bam! Problem solved.
You may have completed all of the Forza career mode achievements already but you may not have gotten an instant notification that you got them. I’ve seen that before with other games on super rare occasions.
As for staying busy, I play other games. There simply isn’t enough people that are around my skill level playing online to get me to come back more than once a week. Though I do need to play FM5 to get more achievements. Been slacking a bit.
Theres only 2 Finales in FH2.

I just finished all the bonus races and didn’t get an achievement. Not sure there is one.
I was keeping myself busy by perusing all the available paints and downloading them and trying out different tunes to get all of my cars ready to race and looking good. But then I ran into some stupid limit on how many tunes and paint jobs you can save.
Now I’ve discovered the class based Rivals, there may be no need for me to play in any other mode
It’s nice and liberating - Pick any track you like, pick any car you like, no one crashing into you, drive how you like, concentrate more on the car you are driving and the track in front of you. I also love that I can watch the replay back and not see a wrinkled / mangled car. Also good to get some credits / xp so that I can keep building my collection and start thinking about some mods / conversions that might be fun.
I guess I won’t get my perfect pass score up until I race online, which is unlikely (currently living somewhere with a pre-ADSL2+ quality connection shared amongst many devices) or resume Career (maybe once in a while).
I play these games more to enjoy the cars than to race, but I won’t sell myself so short as to say I’m a slow or unskilled driver, just don’t have the competitive urge here, too into the cars and how they sound and drive is all
I compete everywhere else, it’s nice to take a break
