This is a first post on this forum, so here is what we have. First of all I bought my Grandson an X-Box One S and we have it hooked up to my Samsung 27" curved monitor. I then bought a Logitech G920 wheel and he wanted Forza Horizon 4 , so we bought that.
The wheel calibrated then within seconds shut down, this went on for 2-3 days, in fact the G920 did not work at all with the X-Box and FH4. I contacted Logitech Support , I might as well have asked the cat !! for some help , In any event the G920 was no good at all, I was well within the 30 day return period so I returned it and bought a Thrustmaster TMX Force Feedback.
As of this time I haven’t unboxed the wheel but we will this morning, is there anything I should be aware of ? what should the sequence be when attaching the wheel to the X-Box ? Is it fairly straight forward to adjust the settings for the TMX when playing FH4 ?
Tmx works fine, but your life will be a whole lot easier if you get your grandson acclimated to using controller with horizon. He’s young and adaptable, unlike some users, cough latothex, cough cough.
There’s nothing wrong with playing with a controller either. You’ll run into people on the forum, none here, that will put down controller play. A wheel is fun yes, but if you play other games like FPS, sandbox, anything, it becomes a bit of a hassle. That’s just me tho.
When I use controller I can win every time against unbeatable drivatars while using no assists, on the wheel i can win against expert level most times. But i usually don’t race with the wheel, only really use it while freeroaming.
