OK. Let’s review~
Your Uncle Bud gave you his pre-73 car. You are fixing it up as your daily driver (apparently, some of us have put off bodywork in favor of mechanical refurbishing, NTTAWWT).
The same car will be used throughout this series of competitions, so an unlimited number of S-class tuning setups will be permitted. Try to maintain an outward stock appearance aside from paint color and choice of wheels/tires. No racing numbers, “stickers” or driver names will be applied. If the car came from the factory with stripes, screaming chickens, “Here Come da Judge” mottos or the like, they may be painted over or revealed per the driver’s whim. Taking out interior parts to shed weight, chassis stiffening and mechanical upgrades are legal. Engine swaps are legal. Turbos and superchargers are legal. Aftermarket body kits (including hoods and aero enhancements) are not legal. Removing bumpers is not legal. If you took the bumpers off for Episode 1, you should re-install them and re-run the course.
I’m instituting a rule which may seem odd, but so it goes. If anyone joins in on this after today, (s)he will have to run the Road America challenge as well as this one. After this round, newcomers will not have the chance to get any points for the first two races. OK, here we go:
Your Uncle Bud car from the first round (with an appropriate retune) is headed for the mythical Sunset Peninsula track.
Best lap time on the speedway oval (in the “normal” direction) will win Round Two.
We won’t have a leaderboard until the next round begins. Points will be awarded for the first two rounds when Episode 3 begins. Spoiler alert: dragracing at TopGear will be Episode 3.
I will give it several attempts before posting my entry. My car is the DeTomaso Pantera.
*****some great color makes the Episode 1 thread fun to read. Keep up the good work with the driving and the photography!
UPDATE September 21
A special muscle car will be sent to all participants in Uncle Bud Series~
this classic Cuda has the 440 Six Pack option, a sweet A600 tune by DRAGGINSLAYER01, and an authentic factory paint job by T0rqueFact0ry
