I’ll be speaking from Team Fried Egg’s voice. For details, we have been doing some French drift comps (DW specs) onFH3 and we’d like to notice the greatest joke of Turn10 this year. I’ll beg you to excuse my french, but the intentions are the same.
In all Horizon’s History there have always been parking lots where players could train themselves at improving their skills at drifting (or other stuff, but drifting is the main theme).
When tired of being drifting in the streets, we drifters like to have a quiet place to practise. this is why I’m writing now, first of all I’ll explain why parking lots are nice places in horizon games by quoting some details that can appear insignificant, but that take their importance once you get taken awy from them. I’ll be mainly talking about the Fh3’s parking lot cause we have spent more time on it.
1 - A quiet and safe place:
As said earlier, the PKL were a quiet place to rest when drifters were bored of the too long corners of the game. As well, the main annoying thing in streets were AI cars poping anywhere and laughing by getting in front of you when you were trying to pass them. but moreover, drifting is not (as thought by most of the people in france) when your tires smoke. It woud be too sad and boring and I don’t think I would be writing this post but anyway. When you drift (and especially when you try to tandem with people) you need to be alone on the track, this is why parking lots are really necessary in a horizon game
2 - A wide and clean site
Talking about tracks and practising. When you are trying to improve yourself at tandem (for example trying to follow the right lane) you like not to have surprises as holes in the floor or “bumps” that will make your car fly in the space as shooting stars memes. The floor should be as smooth as possible (like track floors) for we can concentrate as much as we can on our training.
3 - Solidworks
solid curbs or “earth platforms” as the ones we could find on fh3’s pkl are essential for creation. We are not perfect, and to have a track, we need solids. Like this we can fail as much as we want without fearing to destroy the track. ans this is for me the most important point of this post. Destructle things in railyard (I’m talking about railyard in fh4 becaus I know that many people will compare what I’m saying with Horizon4) can be used to make tracks (we have some with my team) but when you get cofronted to an AWD 200000BHP Horizon tires built Mclaren driver and you see him trying to show you his skills in Sliding pretending he’s the best drifter in the world but all he is doing is destroying your work and track by doing some [Mod Edit - Abbreviated profanity, profanity and profanity that is disguised but still alludes to the words are not permitted - D] donuts, you sure get a little angry. So props are not a problem as long as they don’t want to become the major part of the track.
I’ll be glad to see you people share this post if you agree with it because we all Team Fried Egg think Horizon 4 is a real swindle for us drifters because Turn10 didn’t give us any placeto train while drag racers get 3 or 4 dragstrips in the whole map.
