The Reddit Blackout of 2023

Situation:
https://old.reddit.com/r/apolloapp/comments/144f6xm/apollo_will_close_down_on_june_30th_reddits/

What is going on?
A large portion of the community decided to rebel against the administrators of the site, a portion for 48h, a portion indefinitely, to attempt and force the company to walk back on it’s decision

Live feed:

What about Forza on Reddit?
Already contacted the team behind r/ForzaHorizon, who (disappointingly) aren’t participating
The main one (r/Forza) is private though

It’s on.

Looks like it’s opening up again with threats of mods being removed based on the mod CoC (lol)

It would have been better to protest by not modding at all and let Reddit flood with massive amounts of spam and cr@p. They’ll quickly come around

Apparently John Oliver is the face of a number of subreddits going forward. I did chuckle

Yeah, and he already acknowledged it, it’ll be an interesting few weeks

If it wasn’t for David Zaslav

The f1 subreddit is going nsfw. Sighs. I only browse for info.

The backlash from the subreddits continues!

Forgot to add

Hackers threatening to release 80gb of data taken back in Feb unless they get 4.5m and Reddit rollback the API changes

That is an interesting development indeed

Time to check 4chan to see what insightful disscussion happens there

Just checked, as insightful as ever
