Hello, i have a Logitech G920 wheel with the new Logitech G Driving Force Shifter. The shifter feels nice but kinda toy like. So was wondering if anyone knows if the TH8A shifter work on Logitech wheels. Couldn’t find much information on Google searches
Afraid it wont work with the G920 wheel on the xbox one, you need the Logitech one. I don’t know if anyone is making a mod for it though, as I have not looked into it. It will work on the PC though, as the TH8A shifter has a stand alone USB mode, which will work on all windows pc’s. But the games you use on pc, need to support the use of 2 or more USB devices at a time.
Dam, that sucks. I like the drive force shifter but it just feels too toy like and not liking the shorten shifter( the actual knob not the throw). Aw well, hopfully someone can make a converter to work on the xbox one. Thanks for the fast reply
Regardless of how the shifter feels, it will stand up to some abuse. Within reason anyway. I am using the G27 shifter on my G920 wheel with the Xbox one, as it uses the same connection as the G27 wheel. Had the G27 wheel since November last year, and it was bought brand new. I have not exactly been easy on the shifter unit in the past year, and it still feels the same as the day I bought it.
I get how reliable Logitech is. I been buying Logitech products for years and I know they can stand up to a lot. But it is to each their own. So regardless how sturdy the shifter is. I was expecting to not feel like shifting a Hasbro toy. just the knob itself feel good no complaints. Just the mechanics feels cheap. Also I didnt know the length of the shift know was so short. People like what feels comfortable. For example, I own a VW mk3 Vr6 and the shifter feels soft and never was really a fan. But the Mk4 R32 that I own feels fantastic more notchy, and its a little bit higher so I enjoy shifting that car better. Again I will always love Logitech, but this shifter definitely needs some work in my opinion.
You think there is a way I can mod my SST Lightning shifter to work with my G920?
The gear knob on the Logitech Shifter is definitely hollow and cheap feeling. It feels like a baby’s toy. I bought the wheel ans shifter together, and I kept the shifter in its box for a couple of days while I adjusted to the wheel. When I opened it and attached it I was quite disappointed with its feel.
The throw in the lever is good but again the feel through the gates is way too light and toy like. The thrustmaster and Fanatec units look like they are from a different league.
You could probably replace the knob if you’re a bit handy (I’m not really) but I agree that if I could get an easy mod for a better unit, I would likely do it.
