New/old series and as always I did FFA qualifying, actually enjoyed my Portofino except being bumped out by someone.
That for some reason set this day, starting with this weeks trial of S2 998 hyper cars on street scene … when I first saw what it is, I knew its gonna be a poo storm … and it was.
Took three tries, first was a bumper car event, so I quit soon, second try had a great team who kept back end super secure, third was more bumper cars “racing”, got pushed out on all races by players and once by drivatars. So 5th, 3rd, 3rd. It was my last try in this trial, so I simply didn’t care any more. Car choice and many will say use Centenario, sadly its not handling as I like, so no, not using it.
Pagani Zonda Cinque Roadster, tune - 175 062 114
or McLaren Senna, tune - 462 648 595
or Porsche 918 Spyder, tune - 119 834 274

Moving to solo championship and starting with S1 900 road racing with track toys, which finally let me relax for a bit
Porsche Cayman GT4, tune - 154 999 145
or Ferrari Pista, tune - 170 064 383
or Ddoge Viper SRT10 ACR, tune - 185 778 532

Next in line was more A 800 road racing with Lamborghini Urus or LM002, where on second race one drivatar simply pushed me out of checkpoint and circuit race is only one lap race.
Lamborghini Urus Concept, tune - 240 550 475

Finishing with C 600 road racing, this time with Abarth 124, Fiat 124 or Porsche 550A
Porsche 550A, tune - 150 002 522

PR stunts for a change done with Ferrari 599XX Evo, tune - 157 390 917 (road tune)
Or Koenigsegg Agera RS, tune - 167 849 655, or McLaren Senna tune - 176 256 116 (road tune), or Mosler MT900S, tune - 148 148 788
A quick vid of speed zone: Forza Horizon 4, Strathbridge Speed Zone vs Ferrari 599XX Evo - YouTube

Weekly Forzathon car is Ferrari F40 Competizione, used S2 tune - 149 006 868, needed a bit of a runup for speed trap, but managed it easily, highway was perfect for ultimate speed skills and Goliath for millage.

Hope this is of any help to someone, take care everyone and as always … have fun :), bb

Regarding the Trial, thirded. As El Barto’s rightly stated, it is an absolute, stinkin’ poofest. I too gave up despite five separate attempts. Each one resulted in nearly all of the other 5 drivers copping out before the first race had ended.
Anyways, used the 1980 Fiat for the slowbies C600 race, the handling was dodgy but that vehicle does have the best acceleration & launch to make up for it after all the corners so I easily won that hat-trick with the full 60 pts.
I for one will be avoiding the Strathbridge SpeedZone PR stunt. Still can’t better 110mph whether I use the Ferrari 599XX Evo, The Mosler, Koenigs, McLaren Senna or even my trusty Hoonigan RS200 '86 on the left-to-right approach… and it’s not even Winter !! ;o)

Good luck Chaps…however you do.

I also thought this trial would be an utter mess, funnily beat it on the first try. Winning required two mates leaving however. Took the LaFerrari which is not the ideal choice (for anything imo) but somewhat fun, 2nd on the first race (feels bad, man), 1st on the other races. I suppose these races would all be easy wins with the Zonda but the real challenge is your own team after all.

Anyways, I didn’t want to waste too much time driving around with the F40C so I did all PR stunts with it (S2 tune), fairly easy.

Does anyone else have an issue lately with browing for new tunes?

still waiting for the eight sixes return

Trial was quite good fun. As always, street races are broken, so what looks a tough event swiftly turns into an easy win as the drivatars somehow fail to cross the finish line. I used the Veneno but the Senna will be the best car given the courses and the dry conditions.

La Ferrari is a good alternative by the way. Really great handling and, although I don’t think it can be tuned to 998, it’s a really fun car to drive.

This trial really doesn’t show the Devs in a good light.
The first race, S2 Hypercars in the rain on a very short, slippery road is a challenge against AI that aren’t slowed by weather, though even they seem to crash a lot.
Next couple of races are OK, as dry but S2 on the road in traffic is just an utter crash fest.
S1 should be the max for Street Scene Trials. Single player… sure go S2…and it’s finally summer … why oh why have it raining. We have enough of Snow and Rain in other seasons.
At least Mx should be less rain…

Fortunately team won on second go, first time I was kicked 5 seconds into the start of the second race… weird games seem to stutter, I slammed into AI I was drafting and then disconnected.
Shame as we had won the first.

I took the Hennessey Venom as something different.
Light car even with 4WD so you can take the corners a little under the limit be back to speed in no time.
Managed 2,4,2 so not all bad considering… one AI was just too fast by they time I was through the pack carefully.

I really hope trails are a little more reasonable in FH5 as events like this one are not fun, other weeks I’ll run the trial a dozen or more times for fun… not this week.

This Trial was a mess but i got it done first run due to only having 2 team mates and coming 2nd and 1st, 1st.

Used the Centanario which i reckon handles alright. Only real gripe i had was in subsequent Trails i raced that the AI force field is a joke. I would get knocked off track by AI if i tried to take them on an inside corner at the checkpoint (was very annoying since i have rewind turned off), this happened quite often. Hopefully they fix (or do away) with this type of idiocy in FH5.

Team mates in various Trial runs were as usual selfish rammers or just plain wouldn’t get out of the way. They obviously have problems understanding “team race”.

All in all though i did enjoy it, frustrating at times, but enjoyable all the same.

Now as for that daily, for the life of me i drove on the freeway for about an hour trying in both solo and online to get the threading the needle done. I had absolutely no cars in any position to do it with, they were either too close together or single file. Finally i got it done but it took a long time. Then after i got it done all of a sudden the traffic increased and i was doing threading the needles every couple of minutes :frowning:

I managed to do the Threading the Needle properly this time on the motorway. A few seasons ago you had to get I think 10 and I got really frustrated so I ended up banging two cars close together in car park and then doing it that way!

Trial again was an utter nightmare. Took me 4 goes to complete. Started in the Aventador FE which was all over the place! Ended up with the LaFerrari which was much better but still took a while. Why, why on slippery roads.

Speedzone was a little tricky but I remembered this one from the Winter Season a few months ago and used the same tactic - full speed, left of the tree before the bridge, hit the bridge wall and whilst I scrubs some speed off you can get it back to 140mph by the end of the zone.

Also noticed on the Edinburgh street races seemed broken - only 1 lap of a circuit!

Personally if you didn’t use the car or it’s a spare then i’d usually sell them without perks activated.

For anyone having problems getting threading the needle skills on highway:

  • go solo
  • use road that goes east from Edinburgh castle

Since many people complain about speed zone, I went and did a vid, also set a new PB (265 kph / 164 mph)

PS
No wallriding

Edit
Thank you Jezza, LaFerrari really is so nice to drive.

They may as well just award the Trial to everyone due to the fact i have witnessed 2 out of 3 races over several Trials being awarded as won when it was quite clear the team lost. Couple that with AI that bounce you off the track when you get anywhere close to them and it makes it stupid. As for the Lambo championship, what joker dev decided to make the last race 1 lap???

The season is broken and i get the feeling that PGG just don’t care anymore even if it is bleedingly obvious. If they do this in FH5 i will be leaving the franchise permanently and not coming back.

FH4 has seriously ruined what was a good game, even FH3 is better in more aspects.

Take something that is not broken, tear it apart, redesign it, don’t fully test it, ignore issues that affect quality of play and PR the hell out of it as “Absolutely brilliant, best ever yet” and you have Microsoft at it’s best selling a dodgy product. They make car salesmen look tame when it comes to spin.

I get more and more disappointed the more i play it lately (even the server issues are creeping back to their worst, if they ever fixed it that is).

Weird trial. Mostly non tuned cars but some great drivers. Lost all 3, but wins given for races 1&2. Weird but we won. Never had that happen.
PG had 2 teams, one with higher level players and 4/6 tuned. Out team had two higher level players, rest no, and 2/6 tuned cars. We got crushed. Matchmaking fail. But, boxes checked chores done. Lol.
Hope FH5 better. Still haven’t pre ordered yet.
Thanks all for suggestions as always.

Street race trials often have a bug where either a couple of the drivatars don’t get registered as crossing the line (so that clear defeats become wins as everyone gets points for beating them) or just plain give the human team the win despite having less points. It’s the main reason I always find it quite odd when people complain that they are losing repeatedly - you might get 1-2 street trials where the AI functions normally but the vast majority are bugged so that the human team is nearly always going to win.
