Wasting 1 min as I’ve worked on the first stage to just before I complete it. For me, it’s better than giving someone free points. If you want to cover someone else’s load and give them free points in the process, then that’s your decision. Not gonna knock it.
I believe the problem is not that players are intentionally afking but rather there are players in the area doing other stuff.
A simple solution to reduce this issue is prompt the user whether they want to join the arcade. The prompt stays on screen for 8 seconds. If you miss prompt you need to drive out then back in.

Happened to me often. It’s like crashing a party. I hate it when i quit something i didnt want to join.
Doesn’t happen often. I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt for a minute or two, usually the first round, then if they’re still idle and it’s just the two of us I’ll go work away at those Stunt Star Accolades in Arcade and write off getting a completion. No biggie, yet. I guess once those accolades are done I’ll just quit it if they aren’t contributing. I can find something else to do.
The only time I seem to get others in an Arcade session with me is when the bubble appears around a house, festival site or other location where people congregate. These people may have never intended to participate in the Arcade to begin with.
I have done quite a few Arcades (currently 5k FP but have been buying quite a bit of stuff from the shop) but have only once encountered this ‘problem’ where I had to rack up points for 3 players (and that was still doable). For anyone who played Arcade before the fix that is still a breeze I guess.
I do agree that an option to actively enter an arcade might be a good idea.
With the much lower requirements now I didn’t realise these type of people may actually have some use after all.
The ‘earn 100 stars from this’ accolades have become a huge grind, if you started from scratch + only ever got in Arcades with just yourself or players who helped + were any good the ‘Earn 100 stars from Trailblazers’ one will take a full 34 Chaos events.
Only if you got them in 1 of the rounds you need progress towards with the stars earned though would those people be useful, otherwise there really is no good reason to just sit there + be carried on something that’s now so laughably short + simple.

Sometimes when playing Horizon Arcade i experience freeloaders who do contribute nothing in order to gain Forzathon points. It is quite infuriating because you have to contribute additional points to complete rounds as opposed to playing Horizon Arcade on your own with no other players.
If you dont contribute anything at all, you dont get the points. Its the same as it was in FH4. The event is based on the % contribution of each player. And i assume it was copied and pasted from FH4, so.
I noticed that there must be a bug there and that it rarely has anything to do with someone wanting to score points. For example, if I do the first round completely alone and then fast travel to round 2, then it happens very often when someone drives through the area that the goal suddenly increases. Must be some mistake with synchronization. Sometimes other players become visible or suddenly invisible who shouldn’t actually be there at all. Like when someone suddenly comes to round 2, which shouldn’t actually be possible.
TBH, I could care less if a person is just sitting doing nothing while I am enjoying myself in a speed, drift or chaos event. I like the points, but I also enjoy the events themselves. They are very easy to win and get quick Forza points from regardless of somebody sitting doing nothing. If the points were split between the drivers, that would be a problem. To me, it’s no big deal, and this game has other more serious issues that need to be addressed.
My gripe is people who clearly have no clue how to do anything in a given Arcade type. The other day I was doing a Chaos (grinding out the 100 Trailblazers accolade) and there was someone also in the arcade. He was obviously wanting to participate a little as he was doing the mini missions although he couldn’t do stuff like sideswipe or get a wrecking ball. But come to round 2 which was the Cascadas TB and the guy was less than worthless. I saw his dot driving through the TB but then eventually go back to the road and wait for me to run through it several times to get the points. Wasted a lot of time. Then on the bank skill chains round 3, he got a total of 3,000 points as he had no clue how to buildup skills chains. I banked 180,000 and saw his contribution but by then there wasn’t enough time for me to bank the remaining 17,000 after the wasted time on the mini missions and trailblazer. The next Arcade on the map was another chaos and he went there too, but this time I was mentally prepared to do his work too.
If people are clueless about a given arcade type, it would be nice if they did some basic online searches to get tips and know what might be involved in the arcade type. If you are not skilled and just doing it for the seasonal challenge, stick to wreckage or speed. Before doing chaos, have a general understanding of trailblazers and be able to get at least one star on the ones most often used in chaos arcades. Also knowing how to build a skill chain of 100,000 will quickly get you to meet your share of that round.
I do wish the mini missions would come more quickly. I can understand that when more than one person is playing giving everyone some time to attempt it, but when everyone has done one, the next mission takes forever to be announced. As a single player in an arcade, takes at most 10 seconds to stop and be stationary for 5 seconds but you then have to wait an eternity to learn what you are to do next.

Just an FYI, for you or anyone still grinding out the Stunt Stars in Arcade accolades. If you find yourself solo in any arcade you can ignore the mission and work any of the remaining stars you need. They aren’t tied to specific arcade types, just find the easiest one and repeat it.

Be stationary for 5/10 seconds is still horribly inconsistent as well, most times for me it simply doesn’t work, something like 27 seconds for ‘Reach 60mph’ is unnecessary as well.
Anyone still get that weird bug where the mission timer goes to 100+ hours left?
Very difficult to solve unless they make it convoy-only. To play online in an unregulated environment is to expose yourself to griefers.
They could make it so each player gains points for meeting their target. If all players meet their targets, the group gets a bonus on top of it.
For example, people who own that house in the middle of the map can earn up to 60 points in a run. The goals of each player are separate, so everyone must get 200,000 points in a Drift Zone for example. Failure means disqualification of that player only. Everyone can still get 60 points total. But, if all players complete the rounds, the group gets:
5 points extra if everyone completes Round 1
10 points extra if everyone completes Round 2
20 points extra if everyone completes Round 3
So if someone just sits around doing nothing, they fail the challenge, but you still get your 60 points. If everyone helps, everyone can get up to 95 points.
I think someone is taking this game way too seriously, its a form of entertainment the money is virtual the XP is virtual and that’s it, just have fun instead of worrying than someone is gaining something without making any effort, first world issues or what. pmsl.
Link the event to the Star Reward Requirement for the stunt… Just like danger signs, drift zones, speed zones, etc. Each star is a point…
FH4 was really bad at this, you would see people maybe do one event and then park & watch EVERYBODY else get them their 60 points.
Seriously, just put the pink circle around a drift zone, speed camera, speed zone, drift zone, or danger sign & reward FT credits with the stars acquired from those stunts. It’ll reward the people actually doing the driving.
I love this game Playground Games! So please put some effort into the group, club, and team side of things. Make the trial have a “collisions off” toggle so we stop being griefed in turn 1.
It’s still my favorite game at the moment and I’m very glad it’s here. So please keep it fun and interesting.
Stuff like this is why we should have the choice to have Private Horizon Arcade events where we can do the events on our own, thereby progress is quicker
