[Suggestion] Test drive before buying a car

Can you make the option to take the car I am looking to buy into freeroam with no AI or no players if online for 1 to 2 minutes to drive around and feel it ?
I feel like it can save us a bunch by trying it out and making sure this is a car we would actually like to buy.

I second this. Although, this is a far superior game, The Crew has this option and their cars are a considerably less expensive, minus a few exceptions. There are cars I see that are crazy expensive (especially from the AH) and I don’t want to invest the money in a car without at least getting an idea of how it drives, sounds, etc.

Go on YouTube and look up “forza horizon 3 carname gameplay”. You’ll find it. And farming credits isn’t that hard, by the way. Even for some inexperienced players, it isn’t as hard as everyone says it is. You just have to commit the time to race over and over again, a.k.a. “grinding”.

I’m well aware of what grinding is. There’s nothing wrong with wanting to test drive a car before buying it. It’s a real world practice, why not it be in the game, too? People like to use real world references to be too lazy to race and overcharge for their AH cars. They use them for other various Forza comparisons. Why not use a real reference (or video game one) to suggest test driving a vehicle? It doesn’t cost anything and allows people to feel out vehicles.

I can tell you what ALL cars drive like without a test drive. They all understeer like crazy.

Lol

That is because of the default tune. When tuned well all cars are fine.

Well that joke went straight over your head.

I would like this feature too. In other games you can usually take the car out in free mode and get a feel for it there, but Horizon doesn’t have that.

Great suggestion, but you might want to post this in the stickied FH3 Features Wish List thread.

A test drive option would be nice. I have been going into Forza 6 to drive a car before I buy it in Horizon. It would save me the trouble of switching games.

How is this not simulation wise ?
Do you go to a car dealer and buy a car without a test drive or a look or sound test to know that you actually want it ?
Don’t be stupid man, I would like to hear, feel and test the car out before I drive it. Don’t worry about upgrading it. And yeah some people love cars stock and not a f16.

If you really think that people can’t feel cars with a controller, then you’re quite mistaken. Ask any good driver or drifter if they can feel their cars. I consider myself an intermediate driver (in the game) and I can feel the differences between one vehicle and another.

Anyway, I still think it’s a good idea…with or without an expensive Thrustmaster (or any kind of) setup… The feeling of a car is felt by the person, not the hardware that drives it.

If I go outside right now and crank up my '65 GTO and then do the same to my wife’s '14 Charger, I can feel the difference between the two despite they both are considered “muscle” cars and without even pulling them out of the driveway.

Well, we will just agree to disagree on the “controller” perspective

I do hope they implement this. Especially, since the car list is continuing to grow and with another expansion due out at some point. There are still cars in the game already I’m sure plenty of people have been hesitant to buy. Given there are so many of them, how does one choose…? lol

Why not just buy them all :blush::kissing_closed_eyes::kissing_closed_eyes:

Lol, working on buying at least half of them because I think they’re fun to tune and drive. Not everyone can have an in game income like DJS lol
