I can’t for the life of me figure out how to test drive any cars I might want to buy. I’m pretty new, so earning money takes pretty long and spending 2 mil on a gamble doesn’t sound too appealing to me. I saw someone say you can do it with bucket list challenges, but I’m pretty sure that those are FH3, although I have not played that myself.
Does anyone know how I can do this? I just want to test the car before I buy it; seems like a basic feature to me. MCLA had it too and that was years ago.

There is not a test drive feature. I suggest buying lower value cars you want first and keep playing. You will build up credits. You might also look online for “best cars” articles/blogs. There are a lot of experienced drivers who offer up their opinion on the best. Also look at the auctions. Your $2M car might be going for less on average there. I have picked up a Horizon Edition vehicle for a lot less in FH4 than I did in FH3.

Alright, thanks. It’s still extremely strange to me that they would not include it. So there’s also nothing like those bucket list challenges in FH4 for unofficial test drives?
The thing is, someone else’s opinion about a car being good doesn’t tell me if I personally like to drive it or not.
Pretty much the “Stories” events are the new bucketlist from looks of it.
There’s still no test drive feature. It’s been requested since forever, but apparently putting emotes and pink hats was more important in a driving game.

As has been mentioned, sadly we don’t have the ability to test drive cars. At least in the motorsport games we could rent cars and effectively test drive them, but there’s no equivalent in the Horizon games.
It’s been heavily requested, but it still can’t hurt to request it again in the features wishlist thread.
This would be a feature that would be very welcome
You should buy cars on auctions for 10-20% price, when you don,t like driving some car you sell without loss
