Suggested Driving Line: Static Line

I posted another topic about transparency of the driving lines to keep them from being such a distraction from the track itself, but I felt this was probably a separate issue.

As opposed to the “active” driving line that changes color with your speed, etc., I think it would be useful to more advanced drivers who are learning a track to have a “static” line instead that doesn’t change depending on your speed. Instead it would lay over the track and represent the ideal path and ideal braking point/acceleration points through each corner.

This would help with the problem I described in my other post where it feels like you are just playing “follow the glowing line” instead of racing when you have any type of line turned on and would help drivers learn tracks (and braking points) much easier. It would make the line more of a learning tool rather than an assist.

I came here to put a somewhat similar suggestion. I think the game lacks breaking point cues, the track is too smooth and often there are no signs. Bad weather makes it even worse.

The tracks need more random stuff around so we can set a breaking point.

But a good workaround would be a line with fixed steps every 10 feet or so. And maybe a tiny number by each step from 0 to 9

The breaking points depends on the speed and brakes of your car. I think a gray line with fixed steps would make more sense

Yes I think the option to toggle different type of braking or driving lines is great. Not just make it static, but give us one option to toggle static vs original line. just like how the ribbons are already here now, we can have this addition too.

Why, because the static line gives us a guideline area where to be. And not just be right here, on this line…

yes please good idea
